Have you ever wondered why 6 is so afraid of 7? [spoiler]It was a Wednesday night, 6 was having trouble sleeping. It was around 3 maby 3:30 am, and 6 was worried about his presentation to the executive board at his place of employment the next day, so naturally the stress kept him awake. He went down stairs to the kitchen to get a glass of water, in hopes of calming his nerves. He was about to head back to bed when he noticed his dog was staring out the back window. He wasn't barking which was unusual for his loud mouth pup. Seeing what was wrong, 6 followed the dog's line of sight. There was something-no, someone outside. They were hunched over something. He strained his eyes to make out who it was through the darkness. 7? What was he doing out this late. He always retired to his house at 7 on the dot and you never herd a pep from him till morning. 6 was about to tap the window to get 7's attention when he noticed what he was hunched over. A body. Was someone hurt? '7 must be seeing what's wrong with them' 6 thought. That is, until 7 looked up. There was some dark liquid streaming down his chin. 'What is that?' 6 thought before looking at the person 7 was attending to. Oh. Oh God. Oh my God. 9 layed under 7's perch, with a chunk of flesh missing from her neck. Her lifeless eyes staired directly at 6, the pure terror still lingering in them. 6's stomach twisted, he felt light headed. 7 returned his head to where it was and pulled back with a mouth full of meat, his jaw teared through it with an aggression that could only be described as animalistic. 7 took a few more bites before grabbing 9 by the legs and pulling her away. 6's muscles locked up, he didn't dare move an inch. 7 returned a few moments later with a hose and washed away the blood that stained the grass. As he walked away, 7 looked at 6's house, from window to window. After what felt like an eternity, 7 turned to walk away. Before 7 was completely turned, a smile grew on his face. He cocked his head back towards the house. His eyes met 6's, dead on. There was no mistaking it, he saw 6. He knew he was there the whole time. Then, he just walked away and never looked back. 6 couldn't summon the courage to move until he saw the sun. A few days passed. 6 even began to think 7 didn't even see him that night, or if it even happened at all. But one day, 7 greeted 6 when he returned home from work. He acted as if nothing was wrong, like he didn't know 6 knew what he did. He asked him about his day at work, the weather, anyone would have thought it was just small talk between neighbors, but 6 could tell it was something more. He was seeing if 6 would go to anymore to tell them the horrors he witnessed. 6 didn't dare go to the police, he couldn't muster the courage. 7 ended his probe and let 6 go. As 6 walked to his house and 7 to his, 7 stopped and said one last thing "Oh, and 6" 6 looked back at him. "I saw on the news that 9 went missing a few nights ago. Take care of yourself, I wouldn't want that happening to you." And then 7 turned and walked into his house without another word.[/spoiler]
