WARNING--TL;DR CONTENT AHEAD Here is how I imagine things work--DeeJ scans the trending posts, writes a weekly update and makes a vague comment about some trending post, eventually, he realizes he doesn't even have to look, he knows what to say--Lag in crucible, nerf/buff *this*, new content. A team of three to six work full time on Destiny working on a few "projects"--probably fixing the database links and refining SQL. They run improvements in a test environment and look for bugs. Everyone else at Destiny has two important projects, obviously the next Destiny, but more importantly, they are working on the software development tools, as they are obviously in a poor state, and they cant start licensing the game engine until they have a robust SDK and tools kit to market. They can't even make cosmetic changes without creating game breaking glitches. For instance--they took the in game melee function of the blade dancer, linked it to the sword, and messed the hit detection up. The game engine itself is fantastic, and Bungie stands to make a lot of money from it, IF they can straighten out the code. When you consider that CoD has used the Quake III engine through Ghosts, you can see how valuable a good engine can be, and Destiny is a very good one, once they get the tables in order.
