Other than bragging rights, what does max light buy a player? What I have found is that the people rushed to get maxed for the raid on normal, then barred anyone that did not have high enough light from participating. Now it's the same but with higher light.
I have been asked to join several raids (I completed it on normal on PS4 but not on XB1 yet, and have even finished the Warpriest challenge while my guardian was only 305), but get asked to leave because my guardian doesn't have high enough light. So much for a social experience.
For those that feel Destiny has become a second job, how about putting raid teams together with players that haven't done it yet. Show them the chests and calcified fragments. Help your fellow guardians out and make more of the game accessable. I know that match making would make this a lot easier, but it doesn't exist right now.
You don't have to include randoms, but friends of friends. I am replaying Destiny with a few friends that have never played it and it is fun to replay the game with someone that has never played it.

I want to be max light to have a sense of completion on my character. Once people are max they aren't so focused on completing the raids for their own loot and in turn help others. I'm not like that though. I've taken several new guys through to teach them so they can teach others. My clan has a great sense of community fellowship and would gladly help out.
