The grind to reach max light is far beyond what it really should be. After nearly 4 months nobody in my clan nor my clans alliance have a 320 light character. We all do the challenges and have done the raid religiously every week until recently. Most of us have stopped caring to play because it doesn't feel rewarding, but like a second job. (Which you said wouldn't happen anymore) Make this game fun again. Look back to the leveling systems from before and find what worked and what didn't. This game still feels like it's so far from being done its kind of unsettling
Someone posted recently that they hit max light and then continued to ask "now what"
Cozmo replied
Congrats! You can help others through a Raid, play some PVP, level up some other gear to give you some options on stats. Or I don't know, go join the Peace Corp. I'm not the boss of you, go do what you want.
There's a lot of people who would love the help of the ones who know the raid but the people who have the knowledge are busy trying to hit max light. Not many people are willing to spend a few hours in a raid of inexperience players to get awful rewards that won't show any progression. Max light is the focus of many people. You know our time is valuable and you made that clear. "Forever 29" broke your heart? Now we're forever 319, but this time everyone is giving up.
Here's some ideas created within this thread
We need a challenge mode for totems and sisters or some sure fire way to obtain 320 ghosts and class items. Currently these two things are completely based on pure luck which is a huge drag.

If we had some sort of progression system for the raids that guaranteed us at least a half light point gain after a raid finish, we would see progression rather than feeling disappointed with no light increase upon raid completion.
Progression should be based on time and skill, and I agree, should take a while to achieve but skill should cut down the time of progression. Any time put into destiny should show progression. Luck shouldn't be the meat and potatoes of progression.

1 AntwortenBump. I think it shouldn't take necessarily so long to reach max light level. But I think there should be always some sort of progression and leveling going on which has exclusive unlocks and rewards along the way

1 AntwortenBump! Reaching max light is almost pointless to be honest. Though it is ridiculous that it takes almost four months just to get there. I just don't like this whole light leveling system. Bring back the old leveling system. At least we were guaranteed max level when we had all the gears.

3 AntwortenThe fact it takes a long time is good. It gives people a good reason to continue playing. The grind also make TTK the best DLC time wise. TDB didn't take long. 2 weeks at the most. HOW you could reach max light the first day. Do u see my point?

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Walrus Walter: 1/7/2016 8:55:16 PM310+ is basically Bungie handing us l. In the previous eras of the game, being under leveled by one light put you at a huge disadvantage for a majority of the endgame. In house of wolves and dark below, Bungie artificially increased the difficulty by one light, expecting you to get all gear, but still be underleveled. In this new light system, the difference between levels isn't very punishing. Every 40 levels in the new light system is 3 levels in the old one. That means that endgame light level is 1.5 of an old light level. If you're 310+, you're basically at max light. There is such a little insignificance. Even at the hard raid oryx fight, it punishes you more for failing to do the mechanics correctly than it actually does with being underleveled. It's just that people are so used to light level mattering so much. Yes I know the new light level system is not perfect, but it is a very big improvement. I don't care about 320 because I know it doesn't matter. My goal is bring the gear I want up to 310.

2 AntwortenI'm more upset that I was told I would be able to customize my characters however I wanted by infusing gear I don't want into gear I do want. Although that may be true, the math involved in infusion is terrible and makes upgrading the gear you want too time consuming. There should never have been any degradation of the light levels during infusion. I should be able to infuse a 320 gear into a 280 gear to make it 320. Stepping the light levels up by 4-6 levels at a time is ridiculous and makes customizing your characters not at all worthwhile. My destiny playtime has shrunk to less than 10 hours per week which is used to play with my clan mates only. I don't play this game alone anymore as it's a waste of time.

12 AntwortenDestiny should follow a more "Humane Design" for how it plays. I love this video because it really just makes the perfect point with all of this.

4 AntwortenDid you notice how they took down the sticky for people to say what they wanted from Raids? It was filled with hundreds of posts like yours and then it just disappeared... but "better raid rewards" got put on the "wish list"..

2 AntwortenI love how hitting max rank is pure luck... Yes u need to complete challenges, but it's the same challenges and game play over and over again. I been -blam!-ing backpacking newbs through kf who are 315 + light and don't know WTF is going on. I'm sick and -blam!-ing tired of it. The slot machine ranking systems is -blam!-ing trash like bungies intern designers. I want to actually earn. Uhhhhhhhh let's see. Complete oryx 10 times without dying for 315 helm? Complete 20 times 16 orb without wiping for 320 helm?? Uhhhhhhhh, complete the raid generating 1000 orbs with a fireteam full of clan members without using rocket launchers for a 320 rocket drop @ oryx.. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh 50 moldering shards turned into Eris to charge some thing that gives you 1 guaranteed light..

In my mind, I'm already good with 3 characters that can be 318. I'll just continue raiding and working on getting more stat specific gear.
-
2 AntwortenIf you have all of your characters above 315 you are pretty much there.

2 AntwortenIt's actually impossible to reach "max light"
-
1 AntwortenMany games can take years to reach max level.

I'm happy with a 317 warlock and a 318 titan. If I hit 320 then isn't that great. If not, o well,

1 AntwortenAgreed. Nothing I do in this game helps me get Farther and even if it did it's very little. I don't want to raid. I'm not going around the tower and trying to get 5 players to do a mission which takes 5 to 6 hours. And don't get jack shit for it. I'm 299 light. Why am I getting 279 damage weapons. You don't get shit for doing bounties, you don't get shit in the crucible, and you don't get shit for doing quests., and why can't xur sell 310 light weapons,

1 AntwortenHow else are they gonna keep you playing this game? 40 bucks for a few hours of content can't be justified.

1 AntwortenRNG says hi.

16 AntwortenYou dont need to be past 310 light for anything in this game
-
5 AntwortenI think it should take longer than 4 months. It would be dumb if everyone was max light all the time in a level based game. It's always funny seeing people who think 320 light will actually do anything for you. The difference between 310 and 320 light is so minuet that its not noticeable. Having 10 extra light for those of you who are 310s won't make up for your lack of skill.

7 AntwortenWhat's it matter what light level you are? I bet you barely notice a difference between315-320

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von BraddyBo: 1/5/2016 6:22:41 AMIf exotic engrams decypted at 320 when you go to cryptarch at 318+ light then that would fix loot problem. At this rate, it would take 2 years to get all my guns/armor to 320 on each class. But obviously bungie would make all my stuff useless way before that could happen.
-
2 AntwortenYou are right it should take more

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Shadow_Legion: 1/5/2016 3:15:23 PMOmg you are one of those -blam!-ing people. People that think since they play the game, complete a challenge they deserve a fair reward. Well guess what? This is Destiny made by Bungie and the only reward systems they know how to make are -blam!-ing Skinner Boxes. So you go right on a head keep telling that Skinner Box reward systems suck giant dong maybe one day they well actually listen.

1 AntwortenBump. I enjoyed being in charge of my progression. I played way more and was proud when I fought for etheric lights and won them. I would take those lights and put them into my favorite pieces of equipment. Even after reaching the old max I stilled played. There was still stuff to do. Now I am at 309 and slowly but surely ... most likely will not get Destiny 2 unless things change. I supported Bungie by purchasing their fun dances and cool sparrow kits... when those cease to exist I will most likely stop playing destiny altogether. Normally the good ol days are just an imagined longing for the past. With destiny it was actually better before the last major changes to the progression system.
-
Agreed . Bump!! Some consistent progression

1 AntwortenYour just not dedicated enough to destiny
