The Lost Arts: Epilogue
[b][u]Epilogue[/u][/b]
Tevis peered at Cayde-6 over his hand. The Hunter Vanguard kept his cards close to his chest. He stared down the Exo. To his left the Shipwright Amanda Holiday covered her cards with her hands.
"Your move Cayde." Amanda spoke. The Exo nodded, then dramatically played his card.
"Ace of Spades! I win!" he grinned from ear to ear. Amanda facepalmed and shook her head. "What? Am I playing the wrong game?" Tevis shook his head. "What game are we even playing?" he frowned as Tevis slumped onto the table, laughing hysterically.
"Ok, fine, Blackjack, double or nothing. you sure you want me to deal you in Tevis? You owe me a lot of money already." Cayde began reshuffling his cards. "If you win, we can settle that debt." he grinned.
"Nah, i'll sit this one out." Tevis grumbled. "It's not fair that exo's are so good at hiding their emotions, too good of a poker face." His Ghost appeared beside him and whispered into his ear.
Tevis nodded and pushed back his chair. "What, you leaving?" Cayde asked. "Come on man, night is young!"
"Yeah Tevis, stay and watch me kick Cayde's ass for the third time tonight." Amanda snatched Cayde's cards from his hands and turned them over. Both a black ace and jack. "Really Cayde? You suck at cheating!" he protested his innocence.
"Sorry guys, gotta take a message." He left the Hunter Lounge and made sure he was out of earshot. Once he was sure he spoke to his Ghost. "Playback the message."
"Ghost, start recording. This is Artemis Chase, former member of the Six Coyotes. If you are listening to this message it means that you are one of the few people I can trust." Tevis was shocked. He hadn't heard from Artemis in over a year. The recording continued.
"I have failed my mission, and I must warn you, there is a great danger lurking in the Black Garden, one I have contained for the time being. There is a very low chance I will survive, and I do not expect I will." Tevis' expression grew darker as the message continued.
"My mission was a crucial one, one that must be completed to ensure our survival. Go to the Endless Steps. But don't follow me into the Black Garden, the danger I face threatens reality itself." Tevis was already heading for his ship.
"End transmission."

The Lost Arts has reached its conclusion. I really hope you guys enjoyed this break from Fireteam X. I wanted to start laying the foundation for my next series which I have been writing for the past 3 months. You learned how Artemis died, soon you will learn how she was born in Eclipse: Origins.
But that's not for a while now. First, we've got to finish up Fireteam X. Book 6 will be the last full book in the series. I might write something for them after, but it won't be anything as big.
But wait! There's more! Before book 6 i'm posting a three part series called The Huntsman. It's a very interesting take on a certain strike boss. I'll leave it to you to figure out which.
So anyways, i'll be taking a one full week leave of absence as per usual. In 7 days i'll post The Huntsman, and 7 days after that Fireteam X takes flight.

5 AntwortenIdiot. Apophis is an Egyption myth. Everyone knows vex get their names from the Greek. Also they are usually not named after a God but a figure such as a minutar or hydra.
