Sorry to disagree with pretty much everyone but I agree with all the changes (And yes I do have all the weapons). These weapons were a crutch for a lot of players (Not all but a lot) and promoted camping and hiding from bosses/enemies for the whole encounter which is not how the encounters were intended to be played.

Naturally, many gamers find and discover ways to make boss battles feel easier and quicker. Especially when games like Destiny encourage or require a LOT of gaming and repetitive play to stock pile rewards or materials to further our progress through the game. When we do the math and it requires 10 + runs through a strike to access something we actually like and want, we're finding guns and armor and cheeses necessary to quicken the process. This is a never ending cycle and leads to complaints and needs for getting people back on track to play the game the way the developers intended for us to play.

THANK YOU. A sane sensible, reasonable person on these forums.

It's super simple... If it's overpowered, then don't use it. Boom, there's your challenge!
-
I think part of it is the ridiculous amount of sniper ammo given for PVE. Snipers by definition are campers. That's just what it is. But with 15-20 rounds reserve and massive bullet sponges it won't go far. Of course it shouldn't be infinite ammo. But I think they need to buff sniper reserve capacity in pve. Gally was just over powered as shit! Can't deny that. And sorta approve that nerf

Gjallarhorn is overpowered for what? It honestly is perfect for these one level up endgame things they throw at us. It certainly is strong for equal level enemies, but it should be. If Bungie is going to do away with +1 level activities, then the nerf isn't as hard of a hit. I don't like the idea of nerfing it either way, as I have played long enough to know what spending an afternoon completing a 26 strike was like. And three or four hours in a nightfall. Terrible stuff. If I roll in with Gjallarhorn and demolish a PvE activity in less than Bungie's quoted time, kudos to me. If the rest of you want to run all blue weapons or whatever, kudos to you; spec your fireteam accordingly. It's not like matchmaking is forced on us in the end game where you're like "oh damn, another group with nothing but Gjallarhorn for their heavy weapons. I really hate how quickly we beat the Archon priest." It usually goes "Archon priest down. Wow, ten minutes, cool. Now on to the 35 PoE."

Well I'm sure it's because with 3 of them the boss is down In 30 seconds max. Ran NF with 2 randoms and we downed taniks before he could teleport in the corner from the middle platform. Sure I like getting in and out. But I can see the why too. And it's not that I want it to be nerfed. I just understand the reasoning. Well I don't understand the reasons they claim since they turned around and sold it. But I get that they don't want the boss down in two seconds. It's either nerf it or make the bosses even MORE of a bullet sponge. I'll take the nerf. Although they will prolly do both! Jerks!

I agree that the nerf for these weapons are justified

Bearbeitet von Der Sheff: 8/11/2015 5:56:03 PMSadly, you are out of your element on this. You appear to be a mainly PvP player. I am the opposite: mainly PvE. I also pretty much only play Destiny and, as sickening as this is to admit; I almost have as much time on Destiny for one character as you do for all three of yours, combined. Black Hammer, Gjallarhorn and Icebreaker significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to complete these arbitrary strike encounters so I can level my gear faster. I don't need to recall what it's like going through the 28 Nightfall on my 26 Hunter with all blue weapons. That is behind me. If I want to spam the Devil Walker, Sepiks and Sekrion with Black Hammer, so what? It is literally good for just those encounters. I rarely use Icebreaker because of that. Now, I will go back to Icebreaker, wait for the charge time in the 'camp' spot for an additional 3 seconds at a time and piss away more of my evening for what? Bungie to claim that players spent an average of 6.27 minutes longer in their Nightfalls post patch? So that a bunch of whiney Gjallarhorn-less forum b*tches aren't included in the 35 PoE are now able to participate? Your camping argument just got a lot worse as we will lose Black Hammer as a quick means to dispatch of bullet sponge bosses and longer load times with IB. You can relish stewing in your own juices post patch during your next match made weekly Winter's Run and Devil's Lair strikes. [9/15/2015] Taken King: Let the Camping Begin.

I agree. I have all of these weapons and absolutely do not agree with the IB and/or Black hammer nerf. I haven't seen a single player complain about the wait time to regenerate ammo for IB. From 5 to 8 seconds, yeah like you said, all that does is frustrate the player and take up even more of our day to complete something. Seriously wtf? 3 seconds may not seem like a lot, but add that up in one month's time of gameplay. You've spent like an hour extra on the game that is absolutely unnecessary. Bungie's stated reason for this adjustment "we want the battles to feel more suspenseful" -- and who the **** told you it WASN'T suspenseful??!!! Nerf THEIR IB and leave ours alone!
-
This...so sick of the nerf cry babies. These weapons absolutely should be left alone. After patch destiny will become more of less fun grind.
-
Well that's what they want. Longer play time!
-
They already implemented the 8 second reloa time and it has damn near gotten me killed. So used to 5 seconds. Adjusting my play style.
-
Are all weapon mods in place now? Curious to see if they shit on fusions even more. Was sounding like they were. Also wanting to check to see if queenbreakers bow got wrapped up in that nerf. Sure hope not. Fun gun, but already just barely strong enough. Can't afford a tiny nerf even!
-
I haven't really used ice breaker in ages. But when I did Id just shoot off all 6 rounds then switch to primary/heavy then back when it was charged. I really don't see how 3 seconds would be a big enough deal for them to waste thoughts moding it.
-
not how the encounters were intended to be played
Crap, I think the instructions on how to play each encounter didn't come with my copy of Destiny. Do you have a copy you can send me? I want to make sure I'm playing the game exactly how Destiny wants me to play.
-
Yeah I'll send you a copy along with some fries to go with your salt.
-
yeah I am pretty salty huh. oh well c'est la via
-
Thank you!!! It's sickening to see so many men cry at once. Geeze. The guns they nerfed were head and shoulders above the competition. Gave no reason to use 99% of the guns in the game. Balance was needed
-
Exactly. Ever since I got a Gjallarhorn I've almost felt like I had to use it over any other exotic in difficult PvE encounters. I can't wait to ditch it and go with something fun to use and not feel like I'm at a disadvantage.
-
Gally is a disadvantage? Sarcasm, right?
-
You've misread my post. I said that I would like to use other weapons without being at a disadvantage. As in, the way things currently are if you're not using a gally then you are at a disadvantage.
-
So soon it will be a shared disadvantage :P but I do get what you mean and have thought the same thing. Feel like I have to use gally. Mostly cause legendary rockets are shit. Hopefully improved blast radius will help them out
-
Aaahhh, I get it now. My bad. Sorry about the confusion.
