Look at some of these desticles in this thread, all of them say just use LFG to form a group cause matchmaking will put you with randoms... lol and LFG doesn't put you with randoms? that -blam!-ing logic.

Randoms with mics, who we have information on so we can form a cohesive team (we need a Titan, so let's invite a titan), and kick if they are dickheads or are making it actually harder to complete an activity.

Matchmaking = assigned to a fire team = completely random LFG = Picking and choosing your fire team from a list of relative unknowns = grouping with people who meet your basic criteria for what you want in a fireteam = far less random. This isn't rocket science.

Bearbeitet von Galactic Zones: 5/28/2015 3:18:04 PMBased on my own experiences, I don't see much of a difference. I've had good and bad matchmade games, but have had equally good and bad LFG recruited games. I can go and do the weekly heroic and encounter no problems but then do the nightfall to witness two Lvl 34s with good weapons play recklessly and die.
-
"Far less random" you are still stating that it is random, get the -blam!- outta here.
-
LFG - Have the ability to decide if you want those people on your team; have the ability to set parameters for those you want on your team; have a chance to communicate with potential fireteam members prior to starting activity; have ability to kick fireteam members during activity for poor attitude/team work/performance. Matchmaking = No choice in team mates. Only recourse for having a shitty team is to quit and start over.
Is that simple enough for you, you -blam!-ing neanderthal?
-
I knew what you wrote, it's the poor choice of words you used.
probably because you're a -blam!-ing retard
-
Ok then. What is the first thing people do when they hook up using lfg? Answer: they invite each other to a party and begin communicating. What is the first thing people do when they get match made together? Answer: nothing.
-
Communicating is overrated, especially for the lower level activities. I ran the 32 PoE last week with some randoms from the recruitment forum and there were 5 people in party chat all talking over each other. I muted the headset and just did my thing.
-
I'm sorry you found them on what?

Bearbeitet von shonik09: 5/27/2015 5:47:52 PMAt least with matchmaking you can't be kicked by a -blam!-tard LFG fireteam leader for not having a certain weapon (i.e. Gjallarhorn).
-
I have never been kicked for not having a gjallarhorn. You just have to show them your other exotic: skill. That is the one weapon that RNG can't keep from you. Only you can keep it from you. Say no to opt mm.
-
Have you tried skolas yet? That was the first time I've been kicked for not having it. Aside from one time on crota where I literally got kicked instantly. Sometimes people don't give you a chance. It's happy for nothing.
-
Exactly but bungee has made it pretty clear that they will not implement matchmaking. Lazy -blam!-s.
-
I'm with you on this one, the logic defies belief....... LFG = random matchmaking that takes longer and often ends in failure.
-
LFG != random matchmaking. You pick and choose who you add to your fire team or whose fireteam you join. There's a certain element of the unknown, sure, but not random by any stretch of the definition.
-
I agree to some extent but you are picking and choosing from a group of "random" ppl, they may say their good and that they have this weapon or that weapon... Neither statement is necessarily true = taking a chance on a random, no?? I'm lucky enough to have a fire team of 3 ppl, but when it comes to VOG finding 5 ppl that want to play isn't really worth my time. Nearly every multiplayer game made in the last decade has some form of matchmaking, what makes bungie think they are so different? It works fine with the weekly, with the rare exception of a few scrubs that are AFK but they can now be dealt with pretty easily.
-
BUT like when last week when we needed a Titan for 34 Poe, we found one on lfg, that may not happen if it's matchmade.
-
Yes. So in that type of scenario, you would still use lfg. In other scenarios matchmaking might still be ok. You use whatever would work best.

You wanted one. Big difference. Point is if you wanted a titan you could still recruit the same way. Optional matchmaking would affect you in no way at all
-
We actually did need a Titan to pop bubbles so we didn't burn our feet. Anyway... If it was optional I could accept it but the chances are for whatever reason it can't be optional and has to be implemented full on like the weekly is now which 70% of the time is a joke, I definitely don't want that.
-
Well, say Bungie does make it like the weekly (forced matchmaking, which I DON'T support). Still, what's stopping you from making your own fireteam and doing an activity?
