Put up or shut up, Bungie.
The most common posts, and the most active threads, are requesting optional matchmaking for Trials of Osiris and Prison of Elders. Moreover, all of the independent reviews that I've read of the House of Wolves specifically, and the broader game in general, question your baffling decision not to include optional matchmaking throughout.
I have yet to see a cogent argument against [i]optional[/i] matchmaking, yet every day many people present well-articulated arguments for it. Optional matchmaking would enhance the experience of thousands of players [i]every day[/i], and would negatively affect none.
You say you listen to us, so let's see it.
Edit: For the sake of visibility, I posted this in Feedback, too. Deej replied [i]twice[/i] on that post! Check it out. It gets pretty entertaining. But, the overwhelming majority - at least if those who commented - want optional MM for PoE and ToO.

I fully agree, optional match making on EVERY SINGLE game mission/mode, event, etc.... Just have a flag on your profile.... Player_X Story Mode (match making YES/NO) Crucible (match making YES/NO) Strikes (match making YES/NO) Raids (match making YES/NO) Daily Activities (match making YES/NO) Weekly Activities (match making YES/NO) Prison of Elders (match making YES/NO) Trials of O (match making YES/NO) Let the players choose when they want match making or not! It seems completely idiotic not to let the gamers choose if they want to play with strangers or not. How else do you meet gamers??? Most my friends list is made of people that I match made at one time or another. I agree with the original poster. PUT UP OR SHUT UP

Matchmaking= players carrying other players I'm all for helping but not when it comes at a disadvantage and the guy does more harm then good. I wouldn't want it in ToO you're asking to get shitty people on your team, same as PoE seems like the randoms just try to be hero's all the time if I go weekly and bring one with me that third guy is always the first to die or can't come up with clutch revives just in case anything happens. Most of the time I end up with rushers. I usually have a full team but people dont run weeklies that much anymore, well cause strange coins drop like a hookers panties. In ToO you're asking for matchmaking just think about that for a minute, You wanna be put with random people with zero knowledge of how they play if they are good or if have the same play syle as you or maybe they will be looking to get carried. Different play styles work well together but getting stuck with someone who thinks and works like you well you're asking for a bad time. Endgame content isn't for everyone I see what bungie is trying to do with these events, and that's to make friends and learn how to play based off each others play styles stop asking for matchmaking because if you go in Trials as a match made group you're asking to turn in your passage after those 3 straight loss' you'd be handed find a team somehow, add randoms you find go to lfg and make some friends stop putting everything up for matchmaking cause your gonna end up more frustrated and angry that you get stuck with shitty people.

As long as it's optional. If I am going to run an activity with randoms, I want to recruit people with mics, not a random with blues and no mic.

I watched how [I believed] it ruined other games. I went out of my way to fill my friends lists and contacts with people I thought I could play with. As time went on, most left to other games, some had their schedules change, others just disappeared from gaming altogether. Getting a fireteam together from my friends list just to play a video game became impossible. I then turned to LFG sites for the solution. It works but, it's very inconvenient, time consuming, and takes a lot of fun away from what is supposed to be an enjoyable experience. Those of us who lack the friends to make up fireteams [b]KNOW[/b] there's a possibility we might run into afk'rs, griefers, those who lack a mic and multitude of other problems, but it beats having to deal with a third party site or not having access to the content at all.

I would never use mm for too or poe above 32. To many scrubs in this game.

It passes by in the weekly because it's easy and people know what they're doing, but if you got those same AFKing assholes in Trials of Osiris, Prison of Elders, a raid... The people I end up with from matchmaking the weekly are often much less experienced than the groups I found myself in through LFG. It wouldn't be fun in Prison of Elders to get that one guy that incessantly shotguns everything during lightswitch, dying every 10 seconds, or the person that rushes ahead of everything/ ruins the groups flow. Trials doesn't match make with skill in mind because bungie knows their servers aren't great, so they have to focus purely on connection. Trials without communication would be a total joke, and negate the purpose of the game mode. You know all those teammates you end up with in control? Say hello to your new trials buddies, dumb and dumber. Matchmaking that requires nothing more than selecting a destination breeds the worst kind of experiences. For the weekly, and maybe the PoE on 28, you don't need communication. However, the day that skolas is defeated by a matchmade team without microphones and any form of communication is the day that, IMO, Bungie has fundamentally failed their cooperative game design. I DO NOT WANT THIRD PARTY WEBSITES TO BE THE SOLUTION. In my perfect world, the matchmaking wouldn't be automatic, or at a postboard in the tower or reef. It would be in the menu, nudged inbetween inventory and settings. At any point, bring up your menu and nudge to the right a few couple times. You can either browse listings, or make your own very quickly. Choose the activity (you select the activity from the destination map), and type some keywords if you wish (4th Horseman, also have Titan) . It autofills certain information. Then, you go back to your game and enjoy playing. Maybe when your browsing there could be a system built in to invite people directly to your fireteam or party. A key thing about this is that it would be twice as used as any other LFG site, the likes of which would probably start to die off. Although from my experience Destiny LFG.com is the most used, there are a multitude of sites that split up the user base. If all LFG users switched to one system (which is simple, convenient, and in-game), the pool of players would be vast. That's just my dream, I know it won't happen.

Your optional matchmaking are the dozens of websites out there that will find you players. Give a single cohesive reason as to why Bungie needs to waste 2+ months adding something that you can already do on your own...

Matchmaking on nightfall: yes please. Its a chore, not a challenge. MM on trials: sure why not.. More fodder for the good teams. MM for raids: no. MM for PoE: add it to the 32 list. Keep 34-35 as it is.

I think if optional matchmaking was allowed we'd break their servers. They want to keep overhead as low as possible and not upgrade them.

The time it's taken you to post a couple of threads, an edit, and some replies, is more than enough time to take your ass over to the recruitment section and find some people around your skill level with a similar play schedule.

1 AntwortenThis, I get tired of looking in recruiting updating to see a group is filled, checking again and sending message on xb1 to see I was a sec to late and fire team is also full for the activity I wanted. Then going to Lfg to have same happen. Finally make my own post and get spammed with replies.... An OPTIONAL match making would be easier and I could play the game an extra 10 sometimes 15 mins. The system is already there for lvl 28 PoE. So just do it already bungee....
