Honestly, there needs to be a mechanism in place to stop this garbage. If it produces the exact same thing, why not have it automatically generate new perks? Set it to roll again? It's stupid that I pay for something different with currency I spent my time earning and just end up getting the same thing. Utterly ridiculous.

So you want a mechanism that just gives you exactly what you want with very little work? And how exactly would this mechanism "know" what you would like? This game uses RNG like many other games so either accept the fact that you might get unlucky or just quit the game if you think you're wasting your time.

"Exactly what I want?" No, what I'm suggesting, if you were paying any attention was a mechanism to prevent people from getting the same rolls on weapons. It's not groundbreaking and I don't see how it gives me "exactly what I want". It's more about trying to balance a broken roll system. Maybe try to read people's posts all the way through before flying down their throats with inconsequential quips like"just quit the game if you don't like it".

Yes you would be getting exactly what you want with that mechanism, the easiest shortest way to get what you want well the game doesn't revolve around you, there would also be consequences to having your "mechanism" would I have to explain to you how bad it would be for the game to decide to minimise the possible outcomes. Also the roll system is not broken, it's RANDOM lol

Minimizing outcomes? It wouldn't just arbitrarily decide; the only outcomes that would be excluded are ones that are exactly or almost entirely the same as what you're rolling from. I'm not opening an engram or a faction package. It's not supposed to be a gamble that I get the exact same thing 4 times in a row. I'm paying with currency for it to roll new perks, not the same ones. Also, notice how I never said I cared if I got something useless like increased slide or kills reduce grenade cool down when I was rerolling. I don't care about the combinations(which wouldn't be limited if what I'm suggesting was in the game), but the ridiculousness of getting the exact same weapon again and again. And if you don't like mechanisms for balance, do you never buy upgrade materials from the crucible or vanguard quartermaster? In your reasoning, that's minimizing your reason to go on patrols and explore when you can just buy it. Did that break Destiny? Or when Xur sells something popular like Obsidian Mind or Saint 14, does that minimize the reason to complete the nightfall for a chance at an exotic when you could just buy it from Xur? The simple fact is that the roll system is not balanced and simple fixes are not gonna break the game for anyone.
