You've never missed a platform because of lag? I die all the time in PvE and PvP due to missing a jump that I should have made, because of lag. It's worse with blink and Hunter jump, not as bad with Titan jump and the floaty warlock jump, but it does happen.

Then clearly you aren't one of those people who constantly get matched with people from other continents and where the game is a laggy mess. Count yourself lucky.

I just saw someone red bar right off the edge of a Crucible map at the start of the game while trying to jump a gap. And it's not because they are a bad player because they were pretty high on the scoreboard both when I played against them earlier and when I ended up on their team. Lag totally messes with jumping.
