Is there any body in this boat? Ive done normal KF about 4-5 times, but stopped. Reason being is that I dread the jumping segments. I'd have nights where I would blitz the ships. Then there would be nights where i would hold the entire raid back as I just wasn't hitting it. The entire time I would be dreading getting to golg jumping section or being selected as relic runner. It's just the pressure I couldn't deal with. All the other parts of the raid was fine (shooting and rotation mechanics).
I am just wondering is there anyone else who has given up on the raid because of this?
EDIT FOR POST COMMENTS: Thanks for the tips to all the genuine people.
What I have learned from the naysayers is the following (in no particular order, so I may I present to you a brief screenshot of

I always have pretty much a standard rading group. Had it since a long time. And trust me everyone had trouble doing the jumping parts ( mostly daughters cuz its random). Not really the difficulty, but the pressure like you said. But after doing it more and more people get used to it. And even the worst jumper of my team does it flawless now ( and quick) So i'd say keep trying. It's no big deal if you mess up...
-
i stopped raiding because it got freaking old doing a raid over and over with little no hope that the next drop would actually give me what i needed......
-
Ignore the petty hate.... just continue to do it and sooner rather than later u will get the hang of it and the struggles will become a thing of the past
-
I hate jumping, I don't raid, problem solved....no real reason to raid.

You can get pulled through the jumping ships, the only one you have to do yourself is the wall of dics. If you can get 3 9f your fireteam over the ships, one of them keeps going and it will make the fireteam join him. Ships done. Then the wall of dics is just about taking your time. I like to leave as the dic is about 3/4 of the way in. Gives you loads of time to get past and time your run. Hope this helps?

5 RepliesPlatforming can be fun, but when it revolves around something as critical as say, being responsible for the entire success of a raid battle at random, it can tend to suck the fun right out. During the Sisters battles, I would often hear people pray to not be the runner - some would simply kill themselves if they had the option. Some have often quit mid game out of embarrassment. Even though I can do it I don't particularly enjoy it (feels silly to me, personally). It's not that the jumping is hard, it's the immense amount of pressure being tossed on the shoulders of a player - some of which tend to simply crack under the pressure of not wanting to let their friends down, or being seen as an 'idiot' who can't jump across a few platforms. This 'pressure' can tend to bleed into the other platforming (and I use the term very loosely) sections - not wanting to be the guy who everyone has to wait on, thus being responsible for bringing down everyone's Raid experience. Having more scenarios that require teamwork is far more an effective means to promote healthy raid experiences as opposed to the route of singular pressure. And OP don't feel bad. Destiny isn't a platformer, and the jumping mechanics are nothing to write home about. All I can tell you is if you want to raid, you're simply gonna need to tell people upfront when on LFG that you have trouble with the 'platforming' sections. There are still some very chill and patient people out their who will be okay with that.

Same here hate the jumping crap in the kingsfall raid total waste of time
-
It's an extremely easy jumping puzzle I usually do it first try worst case 2 or 3 tries. Although I hate when I get in a group with people from Lfg and we're on that part for 30 plus minutes. I just don't understand what's so complicated about it.

1 ReplyJumping puzzles are the bane of my raid progression, or at least they were. I am so lucky to have had some of the most patient gardians in the game at my side. They took the piss, they laughed when I swore, they died just to come back and run it over and over again with me, and when, after an hour, I was still stuck and wanted to meet them at the next CP, they flatly refused and kept me from quitting. That night after two hours, I got through it, I was proud and ever grateful for their dogged insistence that I just keep on going until I got it. I still hate jumping puzzles in games and have no idea what they have to do with killing stuff, but, I can now do them well enough to even have taught others who were struggling with this. Get a team of those gardians, and please, as I learned the hard way, laugh, and never ever quit. Do it till you go mad, then do it again, do it till you get to the end, then go right back and do it again, just for the fun of being able to destroy it lol. Sorry for the novel. I am on ps4, gt as above, I rarely raid now, I find it a little boring, but I will help you out if you want. I wish you all the best of luck with it.

Edited by Sosbanfawr: 2/16/2016 4:10:49 PMTrust me, this is the same as Relic holder in Vault of Glass and Swordbearer in Crota's End. The only way you will stop feeling that pressure/dread is to step up and do it. Yes you will suck a few times and cause wipes but you will get it. Trust me. Fiddle about with your jumps and your agility. Practise jumping from pillar to pillar in the Citadel on Venus patrol. Watch a YouTuber doing the raid and listen to any tips he/she has. Find a chill group where nobody is an expert or even better, where a Sherpa is guiding and encouraging you. Once you've got the hang of it, you'll be the darling of every raid group you join. PS: Hunter with Bones of Eao gives you a 'get out of jail free' jump!

My girlfriend is a good player, not a world beater but she always contributed and played her role.......but she can't jump and platform. Everytime we did atheon we had to invite her back after the jumping part. Because of this we never even tried KF and then without doing the raid we both lost interest and haven't played in over 2 months. Indirectly, jumping puzzles forced us to quit destiny.
-
I felt the same until recently. Really could not do any of the jumping puzzles in kings fall but then I joined a team who were very patient with me and one guy pointed out I should be using better control instead of catapult as a perk. I have found that by doing this and equipping mida makes doing the jumping a lot easier. As for running the relic at sisters I used to jump off the edge because I was the worst jumper going. Then I realised that if it is the second part there is no time to do that. Just have a go and if you fail then so be it at least you will be better at it next time.
-
Sometimes equipping a sword helps, 3rd person instead of first person view
-
Practice relic running mainly, as that is the most crucial. Your team can pull you through ships, and on the penis wall worst case scenario you can just leave and come back. But for relic running, the platforms always spawn on a pattern, so the way I started out was remembering the jumps I had to do. Like jump, land, jump jump land, jump 1.2.3 jump, land. Just memorize a pattern (Mine was for hunter) and after a while it'll be muscle memory and you won't screw it up.
-
You can just let your team pull you through It's pretty much what I do when I fail with my hunter

Edited by HeartStrong07: 2/15/2016 11:03:02 PMI hate the jumping but am able to complete all the bosses except Daughters regularly.. I join at the Totems CP, leave after Golgoroth and join another team at Oryx.. Actually got lucky and received 320, 318 and 316 class items either at Oryx stage during Heroic or from the one time on each character I did Daughters (and failed the jumping everytime), can't remember which.

Jumping on shit sucks, if I wanted jumping puzzles I would fire up Mario or some old tomb raider. I haven't even had the urge to try the raid. Yes I'm year one ,yes I had TTk on the first day, yes I raided before TTk . It's long as hell with crap drops. Just not feeling this raid Just saying
-
3 RepliesI read this the other day and now your edit had me lol. Actually, my friend has a foolproof method of beating the wall jumping puzzle... "You guys pick me up when you get to the sisters." - XXXX has departed
-
I like everything about the new raid other than all the stupid jumping sections. I too don't care to go back to the raid simply because of the stupid jumping sections.
-
I avoided Kf because I hate the jumpong crap. I did it once so I coule see it I now have very little urge to do the raid ever again because of the jumping crap. But if I can hop into challenges to get guaranteed loot that sounds sweet. But whats the point since you really only need to be 320ish for hard raid or competitive pvp. /Destiny
-
I feel your pain. But I don't, since I avoid this particular aspect of the game by not playing the raids.
-
You must really be bad then.

4 RepliesThe piston part is the absolute dumbest thing I've ever seen in a shooter. The ships jumping section is dumb too but nowhere near as absurd as the piston room. The rift running, is kinda cool. I wouldn't be opposed to that sort of mechanic in more of the game. But that piston section needs to go away...a hunter pretty much, MUST have the Boots of Meow to have a somewhat reasonable experience.

5 RepliesEdited by PraySayPlay: 2/13/2016 3:38:24 AMYup. Can be tough. Finally got the Bones (four jumps). Haven't tried them out yet though on Raid
-
1 ReplyI don't like jumping puzzles in game either not great at it ,also I'm 41

I have found personally at oryx and sisters jumping is very easy to do. I just hold my left stick forward the whole time while sprinting so you never have to stop then Learn to time the jumps with each toon. Hunter I feel is the easiest and most forgiving Cuz if you step off you can jump back on. But all of them have their perks.
