Yeah. Why not. Let's just decide Green is only for those who have every single title earned in this game. If you haven't you don't deserve shaders that are green. Blue. Blue is only for those who have done every raid at day 1. If you haven't you don't deserve to wear the color blue. Black is only for the developers. White is only for the alpha preorder vets with 10,000+ karma on reddit. red is only for those who never lost a game in PVP since day 1. and yellow is a color we maybe implement in destiny 3 (only preorder).
-
If the color scheme on your gear provides a means for you to pat yourself on the back and feel superior to others, have a day.

Edited by HollowedWayfarer: 11/27/2020 5:13:34 AMTo be fair, Raids in D1 had shaders that could only be obtained after completing the final encounter, with some more notable ones being available only on the hardest difficulties. Kinda did show off what a player accomplished.
-
Yep, I get that there might be a flex context to some of the colors, for some people. I wasn't thinking of it in that context, but rather about whether blue armor looks better than pink armor :-). My bad.
-
Uh, no. Didn't earn it don't deserve it.
Lol! Meanwhile, in other customization games, color selections are in the thousands... Too bad Bungie isn't capable of customization in Destiny, like whoever made Halo years ago. But, my granddaughters agree with you. They like loading up several of my profiles and play dress up like you guys do. It's important to like the way you look in an online game. I don't get it, though, I can't really see my own armor while playing, and it has no impact on the game, except back in D1 Iron Banner (10% bonus when wearing shader), Factions (quest completions), or chasing loot (Glowhoo, for crux in earlier days).

That was simultaneously the most useless and the most patronizing response one could have written in response. You sound 40-50 years old, which is fine on its own, but altogether with the rest of the details I mentioned, really makes you look like a piece of shit old fart.

Which did I get wrong? I suppose if some like feeling special because of the color of a virtual object, then I guess I could see someone getting offended by that.

Oh I actually have no issue with you or your opinion sir! On the forums, I enjoy being an ass for a lot of the time. Helps to blow steam. I meant none of my insults or passive aggressive tones. I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving!

This guy wears walmart cloths
-
I mean, at a certain point you realize spending $45 on a pair of underwear at A&F just isn’t worth it anymore
-
I have trials shaders and faction rally shaders. I could care less if they brought them back if it meant more customization for players to dabble in. Gatekeeping fashion is pointless
-
IKR. Are we already that pathetic, that we try to gatekeep shaders? Holy shit. There are somme realy small wiener players out there.
-
It's not gatekeeping. It makes shit pointless. What's the point of trying your ass off for an in game reward if everyone is going to receive that? That isn't fun. Usually it's just racists, sexists, and communists that are against meritocracy. Which of those are you?
-
Edited by Rays of Glory: 11/26/2020 8:54:26 PMGames in general are pointless. Its having fun with them is the main draw. If gatekeeping such an arbitrary method of customization from other players (that weren’t even remotely hard to get) is “fun” to you, then power to you I guess. FOMO is the enemy. If you want exclusivity, wear Destiny 1 emblems or titles. Those are exclusive.
-
Ugh but the ones they have for it are so drab and boring
-
I don't want the activities taken out. I think you should still be able to play Trials of the Nine to earn them. I do not think they should be made easier to obtain by throwing them in some random loot pool or something.
-

But you know very well with sunsetting and Content Vault some activities may never see light again and Bungie has not the ressources to do it in a way that pleases everyone.
-
That I can completely agree on
-
Seems to me we agreed the entire time, just have slightly different thoughts on a few other details.

If you didn't earn your chatterwhite, then you didn't get chatterwhite. If you didn't earn your faction shaders, you didn't get them. D1 was very shader heavy, and people farmed specifically for shaders they wanted. You are objectively wrong and chose a very poor string of words to use as a rebuttle to my point. However, I really gotta sleep man so let's call it a tie and just let me go to bed. Yeah? Goodnight man stay safe, love ya.

Yes, but that yes comes with many questions. Were their characters mid max(gear wise they wanted)? Did they have all the god rolls they wanted? Was there anything else for them to do in the game? And how many people actually cared to get all the shaders?

Nothing from eververse is unearnable. It's all in bright engrams. No, what you can't earn would be something like the Trials of the Nine shaders. Idiot.
