Yeah I used to be able to craft my god rolls and be thrilled about the farm, getting a red border was so satisfying. Now I just get a decent roll of a weapon and call it there.

Exactly how you SHOULD think about it. Stop chasing "god rolls". Just use whatever is "good enough" instead. Having god rolls became so mandatory in the last years with everyone having them that no gun was ultimatively unique anymore. Crafting was a bad idea to begin with. Best we should have gotten is House of Wolves Weapon re-rolling and we also should have stuck with that system too, instead balancing the currencies required for re-rolling around.

The issue is if one already has a god roll of a gun why do they need a different gun that is just decent. It's one thing if the gun fills a niche, but even rolls that do that are pure chance without crafting.

How is every gun unique if everyone is chasing the optimal roll? Why bother with inferior ones at all. Crafting is necessary to keep the game active or as you say just settle… for mediocre and stop playing?

We didn't used to think like that back in the day... Having access to the API and possible rolls kickstarted this entire "which is better" drama ever since. Take away the access to such information and people will stop doing it as they do now.

I disagree because it literally made things worse. Instead of grinding for rolls which are already RNG based we grind now for Red Borders which are RNG-based on top of it (so that's 1 more layer of RNG) and have to use Deepsight Harmonizers (a currency from the season pass which is paid!) just to speed up the process. That means in total 1 more layer of RNG on top of RNG itself for the weapon type AND literally paying money to get a currency to speed up the process. Looking at it like that it can almost count as Pay2Win.

I just know I will play some really bad content repeatedly to drop red edges. A 1 of 3,000 roll just isn’t reasonable. Maybe it’s cause I’m old and just like what I like idk 🤷💸

The issue then isn't that the grind sucks but the activity you have to play for it. Not always is the grind the issue.
