In any game where people compete and there are variables, there will be a meta.

Until it's patched or devs bring other things up to speed..in Destiny that's not the case, they'll let it go on for months until you're sick of playing before they intervene, then it'll be another "go to" for another 6 months..it says to me that the devs know this isn't a competitive game so they could careless.

Yeah i agree with that, the meta just develops and becomes a trend that everyone follows its tough having a balance and without the fun factor being ruined in the process.
