The team has identified the issue, and is currently developing a fix. As we're entering the holidays, we're expecting this to be addressed in January.
While we have provided workarounds, I understand that this is a frustrating issue in the game. I've had to reload an instance 5-8 times to get around the issue. Ended up fully upgrading the obelisk as quickly as possible to avoid hitting the bug, which I'd recommend you do as well.
After fully upgrading, important functions (acquiring bounties, linking the obelisk to the sundial) can be done from the Tower.

On ps4 : set back your time and date on the console so that you get an empty instance .. obelisk works . Seems to be tied to players in the instance ..

I’ll tell you what DMG how about this You refund EVERYONE for the season (with ACTUAL money - not silver) And then after you fix your god damn game, we will decide if we want to repurchase the dlc!

Your testing for this new seasonal content has simply been substandard. Knowing the vacation season is coming you should have doubled testing effort to make sure the content is free of game breaking bugs. I hope you have bonuses riding on this. At the end of the day it’s the only way to make people really care about quality.

Well, at least it compiles and hasn’t completely crashed (something D1 did with some regularity). But the game has become a flaming bugfest. It seems the A-team has already been moved to the next project. The remaining team might be okay for regular maintenance but they seem overwhelmed trying to keep seasonal updates running. I mean it seems pretty clear what is causing the EDZ obelisk problem - which means they never tested the final build with multiple characters in the same instance?

I would be surprised if they even loaded into the EDZ to test the obelisk. They probably tested one of them and assumed they would all work.

The team needs to be removed by January. There’s no workaround from that nightmare.

Seasonal Activity. No need to rush it. Not like people paid money or anything.

No watter what I do I can't access it with my Warlock. Titan and Hunter takes a little in and out but Warlock just won't do it

Reset your console (date back/forward by a day) And load in - you should have the EDZ to yourself & be able to activate the obelisk

Wait one month for a fix that inconveniences players. Instant fixes the Omolon Scout that inconveniences Bungie. Your teams actions speak louder to the community then your words @dmg04.

Funny how when the people could obtain the Omolon Scout over and over for enhancement cores you were so quick to fix it. But something like this can't fixed at the same speed?

Yet if this was a bug giving players dust instead of a major bug in a paid for dlc it would have been fixed immediately. But since you already got everybody's money take your time.

Not to mention the enhancement core farm with the Omolon Scout, fixed within hours.

I don't want to upgrade that one to max yet because I don't run many strikes. Id rather be able to access it when I want and upgrade it later.

More than likely the 14th or 21st. Bungie is slow to fix things like this.

They absolutely should get this fixed ASAP it's deserving of an emergency hotfix since the issue also happens to the Obelisk in the tower as well.
