There's no "good" reason to believe in God, in my opinion. I strongly recommend that you believe in something though; belief is essentially faith, and gives you a reason not only to keep living, but to enjoy living. Some people find this through Christ/Allah/Father of Abraham/etc, others via being Agnostic or an Atheist. All of those choices lead to a belief in some form of order or chaos, and provides people with a foundation to build their life around. Again, find something to believe in that makes you happy, that hopefully makes other people happy. :-)

  • Knowing that this is your only chance makes you want to do more with your life, I think knowing that attending church once a week would send me to heaven, would just make me lazy

If you do decide to go to church, temple, or whatever, do it for the chance to meet people, friends, and potentially family...essentially the opportunity to make someone else's life better, just by being you, and being there. Whether your church has a cross on it, or is the local pub, someone out there smiles when you walk through the door, even if they won't admit it. :-) This is why I feel that it's important to believe in something: the hope that one person can positively impact another, even if it's only through one small kindness that wouldn't have existed without that passion - doesn't matter what it is, as long as you're passionate about it, willing to share it, and in turn be part of something that is greater than any one person. Good luck, hope you find what you are looking for. :-)
