BUT, you shouldn't get match made with an awful, nooby team while you are MLG pro. Last week, I was matched with a 33, 32, and a 23. Yup. That was fun. And it was too unfair.

That is the whole point of what I'm saying. If you're on the crazy MLG pro squad you should face another crazy MLG pro group. The scrubs should face the scrubs, get better by doing so and not just getting obliderated every time. If the scrubs make it further it should get harder for everyone, them especially. My buddy went 5-0 earlier. Used his mercy on his sixth game. Won the next match, bought a boon, got to 8-0 and the other group backed out for his ninth win. He got handed his final win because a group didn't even get to fight them. So he basically went 7-1, got handed a round and then after buffs hit 9-0. The light house should be reached by skill not luck. I'm happy for him but it might have ended differently if he faced another group that was 7 or 8 to none.

How would you propose the nooby players getting 9-0 against other low-skilled players?
-
You have to ramp it up eventually. I mean sooner or later that team of noobs is going to get creamed. It'll probably be way sooner than later. And once the noobs get weeded out its only the best left. And they're fighting just the best. That's what it should be right? Eliminating team after team until you are the last group standing. Its not that hard to wrap ones head around that idea. And while this version of ToO ultimately accomplishes that, it is no where near systematic, and way too many people who don't deserve it have made it through.
-
Such as lag switchers and others, correct?
-
Yes and people who had left prematurely when that worked last week. The people who left should be penalized as they are now and the other team should receive nothing. If you lose when you run you shouldn't get rewarded when they run from you. Win to win and if you dont win or stick around and try you should be punished. There wouldn't be a point if you didn't try and the lag switchers and people who use modded consoles wouldn't be a problem in the first damn place if care had been taken earlier to eliminate that issue. Lag switchers winning would only get reported by more people more often which might lead to someone actually doing something about it. So there really isn't a downside to it. I'd love to see someone cheat into the light house only to end up getting smacked by the ban hammer.

I've actually been lucky enough not to run into cheaters, but on week one, my friend got booted three times when he was 8-0. There are fair restrictions on leaving and ones that aren't fair, like when you get kicked. You shouldn't be punished for your internet going out for whatever reason.
-
Oh god no that wouldn't be fair. I feel bad for your friend either way because that's rough but if you quit deliberately I'm glad there's still a loss. I quit twice today because a team mate got kicked. They can have the win and I'll take the loss over that nonsense. I still think match making would help for everyone, but I was not about to play 2v3 either.

Yes! It's all Bungie's fault with these error codes. Take Battlefield 4 for example: their net code was HORRIBLENESS at launch, but not, it's so drastically improved. I'm not a tech guy or anything, but I think they started off with somewhere around 20 units (whatever the net code is measured in) and now they're at 144u. Make improvements like that.

No freaking kidding? Improvements like that are definitely needed. I wonder how much gets spent on dedicated servers for this game. My brother is convinced there are no truly dedicated servers.
