1. Beacause Eris and the Gunsmith are selling it everyday.
2. Because Starfire Protocol is the Voidfang Vestments of The Dark Below DLC. Bad RNG....

Edited by dmn1981: 1/30/2015 4:03:45 PMSure they are selling it .. It's only obtainable though if you want to waste an hour or two farming glimmer then after it runs out after a few hours in hard mode and you have to re farm all over again ..... With the hard raid now out common sense would have been to at least allows players to stock up with xur Edit: not to mention you need to be rank 3 to use eris
-
Unless you've got a closet bursting with exotics, strange coins are more precious than glimmer or black wax idols.
-
But you can't use idols until you are rank 3.... Glimmer takes time to get ... Strange coins you can get 9 from doing a 15 min weekly do that with 2 or three characters and you have strange coins coming from your ears ; and if you haven't really spent many in the last few weeks you could be sitting with 70-80
-
Edited by TheArtist: 1/30/2015 4:17:47 PMYou only have "strange coins coming out of your ears" if you don't have any exotics you're still really want to get....or you don't have exotics that you still need to upgrade or max-out. ...and I have need of all three. For my game, strange coins are simply too precious (even with three nightfall capable characters) to waste them on ammo synths.
-
Or Xur is not selling the Exotics you want or need. I don't know about you but I don't need multiples of Exotics. I only need one. So when he sells an Items he has sold 5 times before the coins begin to pile up.
-
Exactly my point mate , well said
-
Well I have all exotics( 331 ones) except for 5 and as the suros and multi tool are the only ones I want I really only use my coins on amo or shards .. Which the weekly supply's more than enough for
-
Then that's the real issue. Not that there aren't enough uses for strange coins....or enough ways to buy heavy ammo synths.
-
Look I'm not trying to argue with you but the points you are making have little to do with my posts ... My point was that in the week of need when everyone is actually burning through their synth xur isn't selling that's just silly in my opinion and really should have been thought about
-
Because there are already TWO OTHER sources to obtain them. Sorry that it doesn't suit your preference. Not everyone has a vault bursting with exotics.

Edited by Abyssal Shift: 1/31/2015 5:27:23 AMYou are missing some key things here. Banshee sells them for 950. A lot in my opinion, in order to get a decent amount from him you have to grind a ton of glimmer, which is tedious Eris sells 1 ammo synth for 5 black wax idols. The fact that we need idols to transfer Energy to shards to level up raid gear means that the Eris method just isn't effective. Also BWI aren't exactly easy to come by, they are dropped by chance. Grinding them is less effcient than grinding glimmer. Now when it comes to Xur. Him selling Synths has nothing to do with what exotics he has, so you not having a lot of exotics doesn't matter. The fact is that NO ONE cares about Telemetry, the added XP isn't great enough to warrant people spending coins on them. The Sparrow upgrades became pointless the moment they gave everyone the Tumbler for free. And even if you don't have the tumbler the Blue sparrows aren't bad, and Sparrows are sort of pointless anyway. The fact is that with him selling 5 curios every week there is no excuse for one of those to not be Heavy Ammo. Why not two telemetry, two sparrow upgrades, and Heavy Ammo. What makes it even worse is the fact that the community unanmiously wants Heavy Ammo.
-
I haven't missed anything. Where is the fun in a game where there are no difficulties or hard choices?
-
Tedium is not difficulty. There is no difficulty in turning in bounties, no difficulty in running exclusion zone for a few hours, it is simply time.
-
It's not physical or technical difficulty. It is a psychological/character challenge. Anything worth doing has moments of tedium. They are a challenge to your ability to delay gratification and to persevere.
-
There is no challenge to farming glimmer. Absolutely none, there is no challenge to getting BWI for Eris. You are seriously the dumbest person I have spoken to on here and that is saying something.
-
If there were no challenge, you wouldn't be here asking to be freed from it. I'm actually one of the smartest people you've ever met. But this is more a matter of self-awareness than intelligence. ...and the wisdom to realize that challenge and difficulty come in many different forms.
-
No one is here because it is hard to get heavy weapon ammo. They are here because it is tedious to do so without Xur. Do you even know what the definition of Tedious is? If you did you would know that challenge or difficulty has nothing to do with it.
-
The problem here is not that I don't know what these words mean. It's that you don't know yourself. If it weren't difficult for you in some fashion, you wouldn't be here complaining. Because it would be simple and easy. It's just that you find physical challenge to be enjoyable...and a challenge to your capacity to delay gratification and persevere to not be enjoyable. So you want that challenge to go away. I find both kinds of challenge to be enjoyable, thus I am not here complaining.
-
Tedious- too long, slow, or dull: tiresome or monotonous. Difficulty has nothing to do with it. And if you had a lick of sense you would know that farming glimmer is technically the easiest way to get Heavy ammo as the effect is instant. It just takes forever. If you want to get techinical Xur is actually the harder way to get Heavy Ammo, as Strange Coins are much more rare than glimmer or BWI, Then you have to wait for Xur to show up and hope he has ammo, then weight the pros and cons of spending your coins on Heavy ammo, or other items. So Xur is the opposite of instant gratification. You would know that if you actually had a lick of sense. The problem here is that no one enjoys tedium. which both of the other methods require. That and with Xur selling 5 curios every week there is no reason for him to not have Heavy Ammo. So no I don't want the challenge to go away, I was my time spent getting coins to pay off. Which is another thing you fail to grasp.
-
You keep saying there are two ways but one hundreds of thousands of people can't use and the other requires hours of grinding
-
Edited by TheArtist: 1/30/2015 5:36:36 PMWith all due respect. TOO BAD. For most people, coming up with strange coins requires more grinding than does coming up with a thousand glimmer. Why is it that so many people think it's Bungie's responsibillity to tailor this game to PRECISELY their individual needs?? I still don't have a Suros Regime because the game refuses to drop any exotic weapons for me in any of the strikes or IB matches I play in....and I never had enough strange coins the weeks that Xur sold it. But you dont' seem me here complaining about it. I accept it as part of the challenge of the game, and I move on.
-
Edited by AESUNDAY: 1/30/2015 6:04:49 PMYour complaining about it right now how many characters do you have? Do you do the weekly heroic alone? Do you use the recruitment to get it done with randoms strange coins are as hard to get as a motes of light it's not a big deal just saying
