I’m 5-6 years into this game. Sunk hundreds of dollars and time. If I’ve come this far then all that would have been a waste to quit now

Might wanna research Sunk Cost Fallacy. That's probably what you're feeling. I have 2300 hours on steam alone. Bought the game and expansions for 4 or 5 friends multiple times. Still, now I'm finally done. And kinda thankful for their greed, to be honest.

Huh. Learned a new term. To be fair also this is the only game that mildly interests me. Hitting that age where video games in general arnt doing it for me anymore but destiny kinda sorta scratch’s that itch

I get ya. I was kinda the same up until the latest patch, but performance keeps getting worse and worse on PC to the point where it now drops to 60fps constantly during pvp, which is less demanding than pve (was 100+ until this latest patch and 140+ when the game launched). I would expect them to fix it, except it's been getting worse since Beyond Light and they haven't done much to mitigate it. I wasn't even that mad at their greed because Destiny was also one of my favourite games, but that combined with the declining performance finally did it for me. As a middle aged father of 2, I can definitely see where you're coming from. But there are plenty of fun games out there if you look hard enough! Anyways, wish you all the best with whatever you choose to do =)
