All it is really is their obsession with insta wipe mechanics with practically stationary targets, this not only a problem with raids but also with strikes. I would rather fight a boss that feels alive and does more then strafe menacingly. Enough with dps phases, because bosses can be cut through like butter. Make an actual boss fight thats hard across the board not because of a stupid wipe mechanic, but because it runs up on you and actively kicks your shit in. Just look at the SoulsBorne Series and learn what a real boss fight is.

  •
Just look at the SoulsBorne Series and learn what a real boss fight is.
Not trying to bash you or anything, but those bosses are actually really easy once you realise they're just glorified timing puzzles. That's why people are able to breeze through those games at level one with just a stick 😄

  • I've always found destiny bosses funny. Menacing in appearance yet they stand still while your unloading in them like wtf

Hahahahah! I agree with you, Mr. Runner! But unfortunately, Destiny could not possibly allow that to happen. You see, the game would not and simply cannot be able to have fights like actual objectively good action games like the Soulsborne series or Monster Hunter and the like. This is because Destiny is an action game that doesn't actually revolve around mastering a gameplay loop of dynamic action! That's why the supposed "hardest" content are nothing but gimmick-clogged slogs of linear scripted events that have to be executed to the letter every single time, if the regular basic "combat" against braindead enemies wasn't evidence enough! You know you've made one of the most artificially difficult action games ever when what's supposed to be the hardest things to do is basically nothing at all like what you did previously! Mindless shooting, shooting, shooting and then suddenly --- puzzles out of nowhere! No wonder why only 5-10% of this community does them! Not only is there no natural progression design to logically lead you to raids! Raids are completely inconsistent to what the rest of the game is! I mean, most people bought this trashpile to shoot! But then why does the shooting ultimately amount to nothing? This is because Destiny isn't designed around combat, just shooting and only shooting. That is it. There is no depth behind any of it! It, by design, can't have the dynamism central to any good action game! Because if Destiny ever tried to do anything else other than throw mindless props that look like enemies at you, convoluted encounters where you fight your teammates and the room the "boss" is in and have everyone get interchangeable loot that only has objective purpose in a handful of instances in content that only a minority ever completes, it wouldn't even BE Destiny at that point! And I'm not saying that would be a bad thing, Mr. Runner! Just saying that this is all the way it is because it cannot be any other way! Can you imagine if a Guardian tried going up to a raid boss that actively tried to be a threat without standing still, having a wipe in their back pocket and going immune periodically? Well, that's what some strike bosses are and they're completely pitiful! So that's the only way they can make them pose a threat against your unbalanced overpowered ass! Gimmicks! Slogs! Artificial bullshit! There is no middle ground in this game. You either get artificially bullshitted to near-death and head trauma or bathe in intelligence-insulting ease. And that is never going to change! Hahahahah!

No, I got stuck on the 2nd boss Then after watching footage of the fight, and seeing how the boss was straight up missing me but still doing damage I gave up. The surge 2 is much better Less cheap bs

  • Try Darksouls 3. Its one of the more forgiving games, and you can abuse the hell out of invincibility frames

  • Dark souls becomes pretty easy when you fully understand the mechanics of the game. Bs and all. But I certainly know what you mean, especially in the original dark souls. Some of those bosses were rough.

  • If we could just have something like Dark eater Midir boss fight, but i guess carrying orbs and scanning yellow glowing objects messed up with the dragon flying and torching guardians on fire eh 🐉🐲🔥

  • Don't you dare bring midir here. You are gonna fight the ancient dragon from ds2 and LIKE IT.

  • But that fake isn't even a hard boss. All you do is run away and then smack it's back left leg.

  • That's the point. It's just a boring boss that emphasizes what every destiny boss is. Hit them a little, they turn invincible and can basically one shot you. It's EASILY the worst dark souls boss...besides maybe the boss that's the tree with the bug you kill in 3 rotations.

  • Bed of Chaos? That's more a navigational hazard than a boss, honestly. If it didn't have a health bar, do you think people would complain about it less even all these years later?

  • The fact that you just suggested that exodus crash is even similar to a Soul's borne boss has me thinking you have never played the souls borne games...

  • The boss itself gets slapped up and runs. Imagine if dark souls bosses had invincibility phases where they just summoned minions...SCREW THAT.

...Pinwheel? Crystal Sage? Fool's Idol? The easiest bosses in the franchise/progenitor? Granted they aren't truly immune when they do, but they effectively are since you aren't likely to hit them as they do it.

  • Yeah but those are a minority compared to destiny and all of the "bosses" are garbage. Imagine if smough and ornstein had minions, or gwyn (not parrying him to death).

  • The first phase of Rotted Greatwood has minions, and is effectively immune outside of critspots, and I don't see anyone complaining about that boss. But I do see your point, bosses that aren't designed around a gimmick and thus need to be somewhat easy would be a pain in the ass to fight with minion spam.

  • I've forgotten the name a few times myself. Hard to forget the boss as a whole because of it being required for boss items though.

  • My issue with that boss is he opts out of the fight too often. And the shock shanks that limit mobility.
