While I much prefer the higher frame rate, smoother gameplay, better load times, etc that come with playing on PC now; I very rarely go into the local or game chat. I have some crappy matches, I have some decent matches, and sometimes I have really great matches. Using a controller against kb&m puts me at a disadvantage, no doubt about that, so I don’t really want to subject myself to the potential nasty chatter from random people.
In game chat can definitely be a rather mixed bag though, as I linked up with two random players last weekend, while we were all waiting for the Whisper portal. We had a great run, got the mission done easily, and had some fun banter. You just never know who you might find in the randomness of matchmaking.

I've found, though, that regular activities are usually more chill in matchmaking. Had two runs for Whisper with two different groups and made a PSN friend from each run who I've since then helped out elsewhere. Had a lot of fun and some decent conversation. Raids and whatnot, on the other hand, seem to be a hotbed for angry tryhards that can't bear the thought of even a single loss, or even a wipe in a raid. With the increase in mechanical nonsense in Leviathan, I avoid it at any cost because it just isn't fun with randoms. Takes a while figuring out roles and then when something bad happens half the team gets pissy and quits for no good reason.
