Weapon parts are not hard to get. If you think they are, take this piece of advice. Walk away from the game now.
The argument here is, that you need to run them. You need to do specific content that you might not enjoy to get a resource you need everywhere. Let´s compare it to planetary resources. I do 2 crucible matches or 2 strikes and get 10-12 marks. For that I can buy 20 relic iron or whatever I want. I am not limited to either PvE or PvP, I don´t have to farm anything and I can just play what I enjoy and get resources from my playtime. For 2 crucible matches or 2 strikes you HARDLY get 20 weapon parts. You would have to be extremely lucky to land legendary guns/engrams and a lot of weapon engrams on the way (not to mention you can get loads of armor engrams/items too) and therefore the value for time is a lot less. There is no logic behind this. Weapon parts should be purchasable, same as planetary resources.
Edited by RogueReven: 8/4/2015 1:39:42 PMBy specific content. Do you mean play the game. If you need a handful buy and then dismantle a few cheap guns. Otherwise hit patrol and do your daily bounties. You'll soon be knee deep in weapon parts. On another note. You should be able to hand in planetary resources for marks. Edit. You shouldn't be able to buy planetary resources. You should have to collect them.

Well PvE is super boring besides raids. The only bounties I do are the Queens and the ones that pertain to nightfalls. If enemies in the crucible dropped engrams I would be fine with how weapon parts are now. But that's not gonna change so weapon parts should be sold just like planetary materials. Farming chests is for hours is insane. Why would you want to do that?

Well that's upto you. But it hardly takes hours to get a few weapon parts. The gunsmith sells rare guns. Buy them. Then dismantle them.
