This has got to be the most exhausting thread I've ever encountered. On the issue of gender equality, holy shit yes it needs to be a bigger deal than it is. Women are mistreated all over the world and when you hear of it, a pit wells in your gut and your head reels. The issue is not the digital frontier but rather.. In the real world. Exo breasts are justified in the grimoire. If you're not ignoring responses you know that. If a robot is going to be assigned gender (for whatever reason) it will have physical gender-identifying traits. That's the end of that story, unless you'd find it more appropriate for a womanly robot to have a womanly flower. Most people would disagree with you. As to female enemies, it makes a lot more logical sense when you place yourself at the spearhead of a warfleet to leave the majority of women behind. Without your female population you have no future. At all. This has been the mindset in war for centuries, sexist or no. Whether it carries across races is speculative to be sure, but there's a lot of sentiment that a male has to overcome to allow women to potentially throw themselves away for a cause the males likely anticipate as necessary to their advancement/rite of passage, or whatever machismo reasoning you choose to assert. I would imagine that the Fallen like their women in one piece as much as we do. Guardians are entirely militarized out of necessity and survival. Near as I can tell we're the only ones in Destiny with that potentiality looming over our heads. Extinction must be a great unifier. My whole point here is that you're perceiving sexism. That's what you see, because it seems as if you're looking. If I wanted to, I could fly off the handle about how literally every male ever in any Bungie game apparently has a killer workout plan. Or how Master Chief pandered only to the slobbish 'Murican Patriot White Man when Bungie had him. I play female characters almost exclusively. I identify with them better. Have since a very young age. This game's most imposing protagonist thus far is a woman. The Queen of the Reef. Before that, also a woman. Eris Mourn. The only vanguard leader that is relevant, Ikora Rey is a black woman even and I must say from her quotes she sounds like a grade A badass. I have no gender-related issues with this game at all in regards to the ladies. Okay look. The Queen. She is literally the richest, most powerful character we know of in Destiny. She -blam!-ing imprisons ALL OF THE BADASSES IN THE GALAXY. Calm the -blam!- down, please.

 • I'm calm, I assure you lol It is a very exhausting thread. Post after post I am reading the same points being made that imply the reader made the same assumptions (a lack of femininity inherently implying masculinity, the suggestion that something exhibits sexist traits being interpreted as the accusation of the thing being sexist in its entirety, the perceived negative implications of the word "sexism" as a tool for radical feminism, the mention of a concept implying a deep, emotional concern with it, etc.). It's actually become quite an informative untintentional social experiment, but yes, it's been rather exhausting because I enjoy a good conversation, but it goes nowhere when I have to keep telling people that they've misquoted me, they've misunderstood or misinterpreted. I don't presume to be right in all of my points and wouldn't mind someone telling me that I'm wrong and why... But when their reasons are all grounded in the existence of assertions I never made or attitudes I don't hold... Well, I will likely just abandon this thread after a while lol

 • You're trying too hard. If your goal is to promote ideas and communication you just got an F-. I like to consider myself somewhat literate and my eyes crossed trying to read the above paragraphs. Stop trying to write like a university student who has attended their first lecture on "Obscure 17th Century Eastern European Philosophers".

 • I really wish your response didn't have the distinct tone of rhetoric. I feel as if this a courtesy response. You might want to consider a job at Bungie.
