Which one is the best? Do I need to play previous games to understand the story? Which one has the best exploration? Please enlighten me.

This thread is making me want to go through Fallout back into my Xbox and give it another try. I really couldn't get into fallout 3 like I could the Elder Scrolls games
-
No precious games are needed for story, but there are subtle references. Vegas has much better combat, and story. 3 has the setting, world and general fun down. I'd get both.
-
1 ResponderFallout 3 storyline better and that way you can understand fallout's storyline
-
2 RespostasFallout 3 GOTY Edition. It should be pretty cheap, and the experience is great.
-
I liked Fallout 3 much more than New Vegas, but both of them are pretty fun.
-
Fallout 3, it has a more post nuclear war feeling than NV did.
-
Play fallout 3 first, then New Vegas. Simply because if you get into loving Fallout 3 before you play NV then the gameplay clunkiness doesn't feel too bad. Fallout 3 is my favourite of the two anyway because the setting, atmosphere and story are just incredible. New Vegas is a brilliant sandbox but there isn't the same driving atmosphere/punch behind it for the main story. A little bit like Skyrim, the Main story is ok but the game itself is what makes it brilliant.
-
the only good thing about NV is the iron sights and weapon mods
-
Fallout 3 has better exploration. Fallout: NV has better everything else.
-
Both are really good, i'd buy both if you can :P
-
I prefer NV.
-
Never played NV, but 3 was fkn bomb.

Editado por A Saturnalia: 10/24/2013 1:44:29 PMFallout 3...I've put in ~400 hours into fallout 3 and I've barely played 20 hours of NV. Not saying NV is bad, but when I had gotten the game is was the most bug ridden game I've ever played. It's updated since then.
-
Buy both. Then go out and get 1 and 2 for pc.
-
3 RespostasBrotherhood of Steel for the ...fail.
-
Fo3 makes you feel like you're part of something in the story, whilst NV has far better gameplay IMO.
-
Fallout 3 doesn't fit in with the previous Fallouts story wise, but it is still enjoyable.
-
NV is the better game, but I recommend playing both.
-
I haven't played NV, but I'm loving 3.

5 RespostasFallOut 3 was pretty fun. New Vegas for me was very, very buggy. I lost a ton of progress twice because the game locked up and the auto save didn't save anything for hours and hours of time and leveling. So I'd say do 3 first and if you feel so inclined play New Vegas. I would just say to try to manually save every so often if you can remember to.
-
Just get 3 first then NV

Now you're speaking my language. Play Fallout 3 first to get a feel for the game. Once you're used to it, move on to New Vegas.

Editado por A Banned Potato: 10/23/2013 12:19:19 PMSince Vegas is the newer of the two it has some fixes and additions that 3 doesn't have, like weapon modding and hardcore mode etc. They are both good I think, I probably couldn't choose between which one I like more. To me the only deciding factor is that the DC Wasteland is more interesting to explore than the Mojave Desert. I mean I like the Mojave, but a nuclear devastated Washington DC is a lot more interesting to explore than a barren desert that has some interesting areas and the New Vegas Strip and that's it. I think everything else is a bit better in general in New Vegas though. More guns, more perks, more customization, more items. main storyline has more options and lasts longer, more factions, more quests in general, list goes on. But in the end I think they are both good games. Oh and no you don't need to have played 3 to get New Vegas
