That's why I never address transsexuals by the sex they're trying to be, because that would be fallacious on my part. Sure you, can get hormonal treatment, but all that does is mask your biological sex and at best makes you passable as the opposite sex. For men it's easy as they simply have to mutilate themselves to simulate female parts, but a female cannot have a functional penis, which is why most never really go through with it as much as male to female transsexuals. So why do we even condone this? Why do we let people mutilate themselves and pump themselves full of hormones just to look like the sex, when in actuality, they can never actually be the opposite sex? It seems immoral to me.

Well, not until I finish working on my plans for fully prosthetic cyborg bodies. Then anyone can be the sex they want. Granted its not natural, but its better than silly organic bodies.

Watch me!

You can't change your sex, which is biological, but you can change your gender, which has nothing to do with genetics or organs. And that's what transsexuals (or at least sensible ones) want. The name is sort of a misnomer

3 RespostasIt doesn't really matter because you can't choose what other people define themselves as.

Defining the sex of a person can sometimes be difficult. There are cases where men can be born without Y chromosomes and women who are born with Y chromosomes. Same thing with hormones, many men are born with higher levels of estrogen and women with high levels of testosterone. Then there are hermaphrodites who are born with both packages. I understand why people feel the need to label everything including the sex of human beings, it makes things seem organized and easier to understand. Which is why we have terms such as sex AND gender now instead of just sex. However things are not always black and white and you can't really say the same thing goes for everybody. Whether its immoral to have the surgery is completely subjective. People may agree with you or not but that's their opinion.

Yeah that's true. No one's going to disagree with that. Does it really need be said to begin with?

14 RespostasSince Morality is subjective than we will look at it from a different angle. 1.) a person is born either male or female 2.) this person over the years has developed the mentality of the sex they currently are not 3.) this person now believes they ARE the sex they currently are not 4.) this person now has destructive surgery done to them to make their body similar to the opposite sex from this point of view it certainly takes on a new vibe doesnt it? People always say "I have been this way my entire life" but from personal experience with people like this I can assure you they are not. You are born with what you get, and if you start thinking you are something you werent born as than its just your mind twisting and warping through social influences. that is my two cents

Because people these days just want to be -blam!-ing awkward.

2 RespostasOP brings up a good point. Why do we even have surgery at all? If you have a tumor in your brain, taking it out won't change the fact that it was there to begin with. And it would especially help weed out those freaks with the cleft lips who try to look normal by mutilating their face. Fixing that gigantic hole in their lip won't change the fact they were born with it. Ban surgery, I say.

5 RespostasAmerica, my brother. A place where people can feel free to criticize others for exercising their freedom. What a -blam!-ed up world we live in.

Oh yeah? Then how come the Bleeeee can turn into a boy or a girl whenever Bleee wants?

Amen to that brother!

you're right, but people CAN change the gender that they associate with, which can change their sex to reflect that choice... OP is both right and wrong.

1 ResponderITT: People don't realize that realignment surgery does not produce the same result as being born with one.
