Bungie clearly outlined why they’re getting rid of shards. Do you need 40k legendary shards nope. It’s a way to help newer players not have to delete all their legendary gear to buy something from rahool or upgrade a gun or buy a weapon from a vendor

So in order to help the newlight i have to loose my shards? Its my fault the newbies can level their gear? What a stupid statement.
-
Let me ask you this you’ve got thousands of shards some of which will never get used. Bungie stated it was impossible for them to figure out a shard cost for things that felt impactful because the cost didn’t mean any thing or the cost was to high. They’re trying to minimize the amount of currencies in the game that we the players have to manage. It’s not really fair to tell new lights too bad you have no shards guess you gotta grind meanwhile probably over half of your shards came from exploits
-
Bro stop justifying every scummy move they do, I actually had fun accumulating all these shards in my inventory for plus no one would’ve said anything if they actually compensated you for the shards or at least let you trade it for other materials, just deleting like it never existed is so vile. People say don’t trust the banks i say don’t trust bungie

Doesn't matter how many shards I have they are mine. Should get your opinion out of my digital wallet.

So where is the love for the veteran players???

In the same place. I'm a vet from d1 with thousands of hours, and I have 40 right now. I constantly focus engrams and pull exotics out of collections. This benefits the community as a whole with one less pointless cost for everyone.

Ah, yes, removing an entire currency from a game that doesn't need it so people don't have to grind legendaries to get anything from any vendor is such a touchy subject that you jump straight to "hehe commie, bang wife". Y'all are the reason game developers stop caring anyways.
-
What do you mean the economy does not need it? Shards are the best way to get glimmer back after getting bounties. It was a good way to grind less. Quit this "yall the reason game developers stopped caring" while openly endorsing a game developer to remove something that helps out players and makes the game better.

I'm more than happy to reason with this because you made a valuable point, and that is a fair point. I don't know how impactful farming of that kind is because I haven't done it, but my main issue is disagreeing with someone and jumping straight to "hehe bang wife"
