Oh no your going to be on equal economic footing with new lights! That’s not fair, you’ve been playing this video game longer, you deserve to not have to concern yourself with things like in-game currency.
You should get some other leg-up or advantage due to your playtime, not to mention all the people who should be rewarded for taking part in the various short-time exploits.
I’m completely with you on this, amigo!

Should people who invested more time not have more stuff?
-
Are you investing time grinding for optimal gear, completing triumphs, earning seals and titles, or specifically for legendary shards?
-
This question is a fallacy and misunderstands the entire point of reward wheels. Doing one is doing the other, my shards represent the thousands of hours that went into obtaining them. Wether I was specifically trying to acquire shards in all of those thousands of moments or not.
-
So do the titles, seals and top-end gear you have, and those aren't going to be taken away. As I just stated to someone else, the outrage over the shard change sounds more like a 'vet flex' (I mean no disrespect by that, it just seems the easiest way to describe it) than anything else.

Editado por Rogue: 9/15/2023 3:37:19 PMNo, you only think that because you’ve been brain washed by the media you consume to treat every thing us an “us vs them” conflict. People don’t operate on extremes like that and you know that. The average person is always somewhere between the two extremes. People have been playing this live service for years, and Bungie caps us on everything. Very restrictive caps. Legendary shards was the only thing that was uncapped. Some people have been accruing those for years, have every right to voice their upset about the change and don’t deserve to be berated for it.
-
I don't see as how my comments could be construed as berating you, I was merely asking a question. I have 20k+ legendary shards and 7-ish years in the game myself, and as you said, that grants me the right to voice my opinion on the matter just the same as anyone else. If I came off as being overly aggressive or judgmental I apologize, it certainly wasn't my intention. But the way some have reacted over something that hasn't been implemented yet and has been stated as being subject to change has been exceedingly hostile, and getting a response in kind is sometimes warranted.
-
Not berating me no, I’m speaking generally about this community wide issue. The people complaining about shards being taken away are being treated like criminals for wanting nothing more than the resources they earned in game.
-
Well, I can't argue your point on that. It can't come as much of a surprise given the passionate feelings of the individuals that populate the forum. I agree that the responses from both sides of this debate, and many others, tend to lean into the extreme, but I can only chalk that up to human nature and the anonymity an online internet forum provides.

Should people new to the game be met with unreasonable and stifling currency prices needed to keep shards relevant? It’s a lose/lose, in my opinion. I’ve been here a long time, and also have quite the stockpile, but the facts are that eliminating shards may annoy long-time players, but not eliminating them could create barriers new lights can’t overcome. People are generally OK with taxing the rich to feed the poor, I don’t see this being much different in core concept. I dunno, maybe give those with 30K+ shards a hoarder emblem or something, or a glow, I don’t care. Giving them more currency in exchange doesn’t solve the problem they’re trying to solve, though.
-
This isn’t taxing the rich to feed the poor. It’s just burning thousands of hours of time invested. No one benefits from the losses of established players.
-
I guess it depends on what the alternative was to keep shards “relevant”. If the other option was to raise shards costs exponentially then yeah, to me is is similar. Either way, I’m glad I’m not a game Dev haha. As sarcastic as my initial post was, I can empathize with those feeling their time is being disrespected.
-
Shouldn’t really need empathy, maths will suffice. Removing thousands of something means that thousands of that thing is now gone.
-
Ok, it’s clear the only perspective your interested in is “it’s my stuff, I earned it, don’t touch”, and I just am not interested at talking about this in such small-scale terms. Good luck dude!

Sir, this entire discussion is about Bungie taking away a resource. Im one of the people with those resources. Widen the scope as much as you want, but the issue really is quite narrow.
