I don't normally like the changes Bungie makes, but this one I 100% agree with. Shards have needed to go for a while, too many exploits to farm them over the years with no repercussions.

I’m fine with them removing shards. I’m not fine with them raising the engrams to 5 from 1 or keeping the cost of glimmer the same. When you’re out of glimmer you buy more with shards. So glimmer prices needs to go down and there needs to be some new way to get glimmer that isn’t dismantling stuff.

The people this hurts most weren't doing the glitches anyway. I have over 50k shards that were accumulated naturally through the years and I have exclusively focused IB and Trials gear, the most expensive already. It will take forever now for a new or returning player to get any of the best gear from both of those vendors. The other 3 vendors in the tower also have some great weapons AND old armor that just went up in price under the guise of "approachability".

Assuming you and every other player on the forums did it legit, that is still a sign that the system is broken and needs to change.

Easy Fix, Lower the Cost of Everything, and Up the Damn Drop Rates, and even give a way to actually Farm for them. Bungie=Lazy

So, because some of us have a plentiful amount of a currency, Bungie's solution is to get rid of that currency while also increasing the amount of grinding it takes to focus one weapon? Great change. Benefits no one.

You probably have 5% of the community doing ridiculously lame stuff like standing in the tower for hours dismantling items. Why should the rest of the 95% get screwed over for it. BTW it has nothing to do with new player experiences…that’s all on Bungie’s poor game reward, play system which they could easily fix. This is just to increase the grind, nothing more.
