Is that stuff possible to do on console excluding the use of cheat hardware allowing macros/scripts?

Oh my goodness. A beacon shining in the darkness. I thought I was the only one! I play this game for fun. I enjoy the time I spend in raids. I've done all of the raids many times. I still enjoy every part of it, even the jumping puzzles between encounters. I never want to skip or shorten my experience. Whether its my 5th clear or 50th clear I enjoy the content. It's why I play... I understand that some people are not interested in enjoying this game. They simply want their loot as fast as possible so they can move on to something they do enjoy. That's all fine and well, but not everyone shares that outlook. I'm hoping the in-game Fireteam Finder helps correct some of these issues by allowing us to link with much more 'like-minded' players...currently using the website LFG is a horrible experience. These past weeks its made me want to uninstall the game entirely. I always specify "Casual" and "No Skips" or "Not Speedrunning" in my posts, but there's always the people who make fun of me because I don't want them to skip the raid or solo the encounters. It's upsetting and very frustrating! At the end of the day, I don't want my game experience to be dictated by someone else's choice to skip all of the content I enjoy, or to cheese the mechanics I want to do. I will never tire or bore of this game, it is my favorite game of all time and the raid content is my favorite activity type. I hope that Season 23 helps me to start enjoying this game again. Thank you for sharing at least a little of my view on skips / cheeses. It's very difficult to find people in this community who feel the same way I do.

I want to be understanding, but all Im getting is "😠 I keep playing with experienced players, but they are playing the game wrong by trying to optimise an activity they've done hundreds of times before! And having fun doing it! 😠" There's obviously a courtesy that goes with any social interaction by making sure your actions arent hindering the experience of others, but this mainly pertains to new players who haven't experienced the activity before. If everyone has done the activity before and 5 of 6 people are happy to skip/ cheese then you're the odd one out. Sorry but either go along with it or find a new group. In all my time using lfg i have never suprised half way through a raid realizing I joined one of those psudo-speedrun groups. You can tell these guys are in your group in the first 2 minutes of the activity and if you dont like that atmosphere/style you can leave. I know I'm not a huge fan of those groups, but you would have the same exposure with them with our without skating. If you are going to take a hardline no skating/cheesing/ play only as the bungie lords intended you are going to need to be explicit, expect longer wait timea for queuing and be ready to kick people who dont play your way. If it's your group you have the authority to treat it like that, if not you're -blam!- out of luck. The only time I've ever experienced a group start activities before people are ready is when people forget they cant shoot or more commonly a new player starts something by accident, and never has someone knowingly screwed over a red boarder run. If this happens as frequently as is suggested I have to believe it's a secret lack of communication or something else on your end. That is not the norm for me or anyone i have raided with. If its trolls, you would be -blam!- anyhow. They would be doing the same -blam!- with or without skating/ exploits. If you truly want to have an "as bungie intended" experience you're best bet is to do teaching runs with as few experienced players allowed as possible. Just remember in general most people are fine with skating/cheeses/exploits in pve activities and the same people that skate past stuff wouldnt atop if skating didnt exist, they would just run past it anyhow.

There's a lot of movement/super aspects that would have to be reworked ENTIRELY for this to happen. Which means it won't.

If you’re going for the red chest, specify in your post. Instead of penalising good players, why not find like minded people in a similar skill tier to play with. This very much feels like a ‘I can’t do it so why should anyone else’ post.

Agreed. I did King's Fall flawless towards the end of last season, everyone except me was skating. We were there for 7 hours, and despite completing it, only made it to Warpriest three times. They all insisted they could execute it perfectly, but kept dying in the Tombship jumping section. Meanwhile, taking the intended path offers zero risk and much consistency. Eager Edge skating has enabled trolls and speedrunners, two of the most obnoxious kinds of player, and makes everyone who uses it develop a superiority complex. They forget that the game isn't balanced around it, and that it is in no way necessary, and have no respect for people who don't use it.
