To start off with... Bungie is a company and is there to make money. Most of the money from the Sony sale went to the share owners and backers not Bungie itself. Do you think running a office building and all the equipment is cheap. Bungie spent a fortune during the Covid lockdown buying special PCs so staff could continue working as those PCs has to be isolated from any other source for security reasons. You say a AAA game costs so much to make but while in production where does the money come from? You say about Bungie legal action... how much did it cost Bungie to bring the case to court? These are just some of the things that need to be considered.

They make 300-400 mil per year from eververse alone. If all 9000 employees got a $10,000 super PC to work at home, that is 90 mil. So that's not even 1/3 of what they make from Eververse AND that was only a 1 time thing at the start of COVID. So for 3 years now they haven't had that expense. They sell 1-1.5 mil expansions per year, which is 80-120 mil there. Plus seasons/dungeon passes. Another 50-100 mil. They don't have resources to make 1 pvp map or 1 new ritual armor set PER YEAR?????????? That is the worst lie I have ever heard in my entire effing life. The fact is they don't want to put money into free to play parts of the game, and they will lie and lie and lie like they always have about that. This company is a joke now, and anyone who still supports it has literally ZERO standards or self respect.

  • To add onto what you are saying: If a game company designs a game, and they decide said game will have: Story, Exotic Missions, PvP, PvEvP, Side-PvE modes, loot from said modes, an in-game store, and a couple of other random ideas/ modes/ options, well that game completely, better know how to balance their resources. They better understand what it takes to not only provide that content in the first place, but what it takes to maintain it. Especially when said company decided to make a live service game. If they can’t manage their time and resources, what are they doing in the gaming business?

  • People need to stop playing it and don't even consider buying Final Shape. Play better games. Bungie doesn't care about the player base so nobody should ever support them.

  • I understand your point, which is why I stated in the disclaimer not all things are considered. However...
You say a AAA game costs so much to make but while in production where does the money come from?
The point is they have the money for paybacks. They owe nothing. Although, didn't Destiny 2 funds come from Destiny 1, that made $325 million in sales within the first five days? Also, didn't Destiny 1 funds come from selling Halo to Microsoft as part of their separation agreement?
You say about Bungie legal action... how much did it cost Bungie to bring the case to court?
In those lawsuits, Bungie was awarded litigation fees. The highest fee request in a single case was around $142k+ I think. It wouldn't matter to me if it was a million dollars. Big whoop for a MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY. Don't treat Bungie like its small business. If there is a money shortage, AND the product doesn't reflect income, then something is amiss.
