Playing the devil's advocate: it worked for me. I used to had only up to stasis dlc and only got witch queen a few months ago cause it was like 30% it's price. I love destiny, but the content/price ratio is no longer good, there are plently of better stuff around. Destiny still nice and fun, but totally not worth to be my main game.
