People don’t understand that KD is just a number and it dose not mean how good someone is I played with a player today with an Eli of top 2.4% and a KD of 1.2 and he was not good
So stop judging people for there KD

2 RespostasIt’s an indicator but nothing more

After having played a decent amount of crucible recently if I’m matched with a team of .8s I know I’m not going to have a good time …
-
It's even less than pointless, it's actually detrimental to the game and to players. The only thing that KD is an accurate measure of is the calibre of the average opponent that player has played against. If the game matches someone up with players worse than them, that person would naturally gain a larger KD, making them believe they're better than they think. Then they believe that they're 'entitled' to that KD. Any time they're matched with players better than them and their KD goes down, they blame the game. The algorithm changed, matchmaking changed, 'I shouldn't have to sweat', 'I just want to have fun', etc. If two, equally matched, champion-level teams play against each other, they would naturally trend toward a 1.0KD. That doesn't mean those players are 'bad', and it doesn't portray how 'good' they are either. All KD does is makes people think they're justified that they 'deserve' to be fed bad players. That means below average players aren't having a good experience, and above average players don't understand the meaning of balance.
As an example, see every single post about people coming across a stacked team in Trials...
2 RespostasNo stat means anything really Kd can be farmed, elo can be farmed, win % can be farmed etc
-
So many people are 'farming' kd, it's redicoulus. Especialy in trials but other pvp to. People leaving matches right before the match ends when they're loosing. Resetting cards and just playing first match. Only playing in pre made 6 stacks. All to fluf their kd. It's just sad.

This game is about cheese and play style and if you are not using either of these you are at a disadvantage. As one of my favorite streamers said “ Destiny PvP is about mastering the cheese”.
-
52 RespostasNot only that, game is also becoming pointless. 😂😂😂 State of the game. Pointless! 😂😂😂
-
Omg those people that go and search someone kd before formulating their response are the most cringe cowardly little things man ugh.... AGREED
-
1.2 isn’t all that good. KD doesn’t matter or tell you who is better in many situations however, it’s a great LFG tool.
-
6 RespostasAll it means is how much you value your life versus getting kills. It’s doesn’t mean you can aim, play the objective or win games. Even ELO is not effective since you can just run stacked and piggy back off better players / pub stomp. But sadly, it’s a measurement of sorts that can be required to join certain LFG’s etc. The ones rocking their high KDA’s are usually the ones I see quitting the game first.
-
The number isn't pointless. Its like a batting average in baseball. The problem is when you start to think having high batting average makes one a better person. Which is the toxic way in which many shooter gamers use that number. What you eventually realize is that the world really doesn't care how good you are....or how good you think you are....unless they're paying you. ...and then they only care about what you did for them today.
-
I've seen .6s drop 30 to 40 kill games, it goes both ways. It's an average, meaning a player can do better or worse than it. It is meant to be used as a rough idea of how good someone is. Personally, I just enjoy seeing mine go up, as I feel as if I'm improving when it does.
-
2 RespostasKD is mostly inflated You can easily get a 2.0 KD by only team shoot play in stacks and flee all 1v1 Plus leaving a game before it end won't count toward your KD so peoples leaves when they have a bad match Its an ego thing ...I don't understand it...same core thing with BR games
-
Editado por A_mo: 1/3/2022 3:08:18 PMAfter playing Trials this weekend I'm starting to think this might be even more true than I would let myself believe even though I already believed it to be the case. Even a decent bit down below 1k/d, a lot of peoples' actual skill can't be matched to their stats. Its not everyone, but it could be more than I thought.
-
15 RespostasWrong. People have good games and bad games but KD is a solid measuring stick for someone's skill. Also teammates make a huge difference in good players being able to make plays. So if you suck, and it sounds like you do, don't get mad when you don't get carried.
-
To be fair, when I search for people to play trials with I would like them to kill more often than to die. It's justified to judge people by KD. It's just important to not do it in a disrespectful way.
-
Eh, not really. KD is a good way to measure whether or not a player is going to drag your team down, since kills are pretty much the way to win in every game mode, I wouldn't want a 0.8KD player on my team over a 1.8KD player. In games where the objective is the winning focus, then your KD doesn't matter.
-
Not completely pointless, kd/kda are used as to gain a vague representation of skill. When i use lfg for trials i mainly look at elo.
-
3 RespostasIt matters for ranked or similar sbmm not for destiny

Ahh classic. Sounds exactly like someone who does take it too seriously while also being extremely insecure would say. That is something I’m judging you for. Edit: I just looked up your stats. I’m so sorry about what I said. I now understand why this is such a sensitive topic. The good news is bungie loves cheating so you might be able to pay some to fix your “situation”. Up until this point I looked down on recovs more than bad stats but after viewing your little issue iv been forced to rethink.
-
Look at everyone stating stats and numbers like its really important to day to day life. (I'm super average) and literally don't give a -blam!-
-
bruh 1.2 kd is not good 3. somthing and then you start talking
-
People don’t understand that KD is just a number and it dose not mean how good someone is I played with a player today with an Eli of top 2.4% and a KD of 1.2 and he was not good So stop judging people for there KD
Kd is a statistic based on how you play. It does mean something whether you want it to or not.
-
1 ResponderKDA is a better indicator, if you look at that sort of thing. Since you can do 99% of the damage yet your team mate gets that last 1% for the kill (I think the kill should go to the person who caused the most damage and is still alive at the time of the kill) I don’t care about KD at all. I try out new weapons all the time, good or bad. I let my kids play. I have fun. All are detrimental to a high KD.

Not Kraft Dinner ? 🤣

Kd is just a stat, it's a rough indicator of a player's skill, more of a piece than the picture itself. Yes it's misused and given too much value, but it's not meaningless.
