Hello guardians and developers,
Since a few weeks there is an unplayable amount of lag in the crucible, especially in trials of Osiris.
As Xbox player the connections against PlayStation have at least 500ms delay, but in some matches also up to 2000ms.
My ping in all other shooters is under 20ms, the lowest around 8.
Can we please have an option to turn Crossplay off?
Without servers this doesn’t work at all!

PvP right now is just a giant turd floating in a swimming pool.

1 ResponderDisabling cross play for console fixes the latency issues but eliminates most of the players. Wish there was an easier way to tell platform and inputs. That would make narrowing down where the issue is easier.
-
3 RespostasI really wish Bungie would give the community some feedback regarding all these issues the whole community are experiencing in PvP crossplay matches against other console families.
-
2 RespostasEver notice that the latency is in favor of the Ps player? 🤨 im telling you, i bet sony struck a deal to only allow crossplay if playstation got the network advantage on there software!
-
I tried it last night, I switched off cross play! Wow it’s much better playing in crucible just have to wait a little longer for match ups !
-
Yep crucible is terrible.

1 ResponderJust to add this, It is not only happening to me, but also to all my clanmates and regarding Reddit it seems to also be the same issue the other way round. Seems like the hosting console has the advantage and all other consoles are going to lose the match.

1 Responder@kaelon I hear you. Crucible when matching same platform is very consistent and enjoyable. Crossing consoles often results in unplayable lag and inconsistency. Fusions, sidearms and melee in particular don't register in some matches at all. It seems to be worse on 120fps than on 60 as well. While I'm no pvp God, I've played enough crucible to know what to expect from my weapons. Doesn't happen across console. I actually started playing CoD Vanguard for PvP because of it. The sandbox is GREAT right now in Destiny! Best in over 2 years, but the connections in crossplay are broken beyond my desire to play anymore. I played two matches this weekend and I won't play any next weekend. Freelance = the worst connections in Trials. I have not yet seen Bungie acknowledge or address the issue, but it is something everyone I play with (dozens of people) have noticed. They can fix all the maps and make an awesome sandbox, but if people can't get a consistent experience in game, they'll find other options. Plenty out there. I'm hoping they can figure out a solution or at least acknowledge that it's happening.

Them 6-Mans really be hitting different with all this lag now. Who am I kidding. They don't hit you. You just die. The the game registers the teamshot. The Red War teamshot era was brutal. But this time, the crossplay teamshot meta from the Go Slower Update is gonna feel like just your crotch got ran over by a bus and a jet crashed into your face.

1 ResponderYou are not wrong. I'm on ps and when I play pc or ps4 or stadia players I have no issues. There is something wrong between Xbox and ps that is causing massive problems.
-
6 RespostasYou seem to forget how laggy d1 was, there was no cross play then.

6 RespostasEditado por Demon_XXVII: 12/1/2021 8:29:12 PMAnd yet all I see is teleporting guardians on Xbox It works both ways dude! I’m also fairly sure you’re not playing against people with a 2000 millisecond ‘ping’ That’s like playing people from the past! 2000 milliseconds (A millisecond is 1/1000th of a second.) so 2000 = 2 seconds One things right though Crossplay (PvP especially) is a stinking hoop!

1 ResponderI just got a 2 week ban for network connectivity, but I'm on gigabit internet and am wired into my edge gateway. https://imgur.com/a/Mbbc9FK

Agreed. Cross play in pvp. And indeed in pve has proven to be super erratic There is severe rubberbanding, teleporting walking through walls etc when I play against Xbox players. I’m Sure it’s the same for them against psn players The ping boot to orbit sensitivities need to be greatly increased in the crucible. People on Taco Bell wifi ruin the experience for everyone

16 RespostasEditado por Rogue: 11/30/2021 8:09:11 AMHas nothing to do with crossplay. It’s been a problem forever, and it’s because of the peer to peer network. The issue is playing with people in different countries, not on different platforms. Crossplay did not cause lag, our peer to peer network did.

The latency is insane. I noticed that the games my team got farmed was ALWAYS by Xbox teams. Rubberbanding, getting killed behind walls and unhitable opponents. Yes, we have a larger player pool, but this is just ludicrous. Seriously.

Agreed. It’s terrible for both consoles. I actually played a guy on stadia this past weekend. It was horrible. They need to address this issue.

Editado por illz: 12/1/2021 10:41:52 AMYeah I have noticed this.

I agree as well. I have noticed players not even being vissable and not even on radar as they are killing me. Sent my own feed back as well. It has been pissing me off for awhile now
-
4 RespostasYeah it’s bad. Also some games the opposite team are like invisible to me and I have no reticle stickiness and sometime no reticle at all. Only with destiny though. I’m on ps5. I’ve cleared cache by completely shutting down the console and leaving off for a while. It sometimes makes it better but it just comes back again…

Something needs to be done; everyone’s feeling it in pvp and everyone’s talking about these issues in pvp crossplay matches.
