Hello gamers!
I want to make it short and simple so I'll just get to the point:
I was and avid Destiny 2 player. Spent about 1000 hours on this game but unfortunately, I have decided to quit the game. The game has great graphics and visuals, stunning music, one of the most exciting and interesting stories in a video game, and definitely one of the most fun gun-play I've ever experienced in an action game! You may ask: "Then why did you quit the game if it had so much to offer?" This brings us to the core of the game which no amount of DLC, new armor set, story, or good music cannot and will not fix.
To put it simply: "This game deletes your efforts and does not respect the time you put into it." Why is that? Think about it; you have to do tedious and stupid activities and go "bounty hunting" to be able to do the activities that you love in the game. It's almost like a real-life struggle! Good games disconnect us from reality, make us entertained, and boosts us up for the next real-life task. They are not supposed to frustrate us! Anyway, let's just say that the grinding to the top Power Level is acceptable, then the game strikes the final blow! "Season Resets"! Each new season, there's a raised Power cap! Which means that you have to do ALL of those broken and uninteresting things ALL OVER AGAIN in order to just "catch up" with the rest of the community. It's kind of a smart move now that I think about it, instead of dropping everyone's Power Level each new season, and making them angry about their time, sweat, effort, cry, and focus being thrown into the garbage can and then making them power up again for the 100th time, they raise the Power Cap! It's the same act but done in a way that you don't realize what's happening and continue playing this game constantly, day and night, to "be at your top game" or "get more things done". After a while, the fanbase of Destiny becomes this gathering of lazy, addicted, quest-obsessed people who have either completely lost their entire lives or are on the verge of losing it. I had friends of myself that experienced it. That's why I refused to get stuck in this cycle. I swear I lost count of how many souls I've met saying: "I don't like the game anymore, I just play it to get quest X done". They are ADDICTED!
If you are reading this Bungie, know that I hold respect for each and every person in the team, and poor game-design decisions should not determine the entirety of the company. if Destiny 2 is to be one of the most successful and well-known games, then you need to COMPLETELY REMOVE THE RESET SYSTEM FROM THE GAME. Delete the MMO elements from the game and let players take their time leveling up, make friends along the way, finish activities , and have fun with their game instead of cursing the game and themselves for playing it!

They need to go back to endgame being the only way you reach max and it’s from gear light, no artifact BS. That way playing the content and clearing it is important and gets you there. Right now that’s secondary. Because you can hit the pinnacle cap but your grind has just begun. Ironically getting and playing endgame no longer help you level up. You have to farm dregs to get ready for GM and Master VOG. One of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen.

Power doesn't mean jack -blam!- in this game either, but for some dumb reason, Bungie wants to make sure you keep repeating that same process over and over and over and over again just to have you end up going nowhere in this game. It's a broken system that doen't benefit anyone knowing the power cap and how things scale with you. Hell, you don't even really notice the difference between the soft cap to the hard cap, It's that bad, but some have this illusion "if I reach max or close to it that it means something". (Nope) It doesn't really mean anything other than only showing how much time you spend grinding the same repetitive content each year with the added bonus of each season and that's it.

D1 Day1, 6 accounts, 18 characters. I still think this is the best game out there. But now I just play. I don't like pvp so i don't play it. Don't like Gambit, don't play it. No clan. No friends. There are enough other things to do. When I get bored I stop. Don't care what the Youtubers think are the god rolls. When\if I get a PS5 I expect to move on. Until then I just play. IMHO

1. Not every game is for everyone. 2. All power level does in this game right now is to serve as a TIME GATE to keep players out of end game content until late in the season. 3. If you’re getting tilted by what is the reset of the Seasonal artifact then—with respect—you probably need to look at how you interact with the game. 4. Most people who complain about bounties, are hostile to them because they let the bounty control their play. They try to get the bounty out of the way as fast as possible, and interact with game in unrewarding play loops (grinding the same lost sector over and over) or in unhealthy ways (ignoring objective to focus on bounties). At this point in the game (9000 hours) bounties are just a habit, and the reset of the Artifact gives me goals to work towards. But I play bounties organically. I play the game the way I enjoy…and let the bounties take care of themselves. The only control bounties have over my play is what weapons I use and what location I’m at (obviously you can’t fill a Moon bounty on Tangled Shore) Lastly? If something stops being fun? Stop doing it. If you continue to grind away at something you aren’t finding enjoyable, it’s not the games fault. You’re making a bad decision and just refusing to own it.

Not everyone should be able to do end game content in an mmo. I know people will hate that but tough luck I guess. Mmos have and always will be a time investment. If you haven't put in the time to get to end game, why would I want you in my party? If you aren't willing to put in the time/effort to do something easy like grinding gear then how can I know you'll put in the minimum effort to know mechanics in a raid? It takes me about 5 hours a week to finish all my pinnacle drops and after that I get to do whatever I want. If that 5 hours a week is too much for you and you want a free pass right to end game then sorry not sorry but I don't think you deserve to play end game.

17 RespostasYou’re quite right and only very few people will admit this. But it is clearly an addictive game, which is also the foundation of their entire marketing scheme. In this game you hang out with so many people who are like you that you don’t even realise how unhealthy it is. The amount of time you put in is crazy if you want to just be able to do GMs when they come up or Trials. And the fact that for the most part this game is really frustrating and doesn’t work properly makes it even more ridiculous. Time to go outside, enjoy the sunshine, meet some people and get some exercise. You’ll be way better off.

8 RespostasThanks and agreed. I get kicked, banned and harassed out of guilds and discord’s for 10+ years in multiple games for pointing out the same thing. What’s sadly ironic……is those people that harassed me, are now complaining about the very same issue because THEIR toy is being removed. So thank you for proving I’m not alone and we were just ahead of the bell curve where the majority gold fish sit.

So you are mad because they reset the power bonus from the artefact?

I agree, having the power cap raised each season is one of the things I disliked about D2, if you're going to raise the level then do it with DLC - not seasons! You should load D1 back up (or load it up for the first time, if you've never played it before), it's much more relaxed and you can play what you want, when you want. Only thing it's missing is the limited time events like Iron Banner. I only play D1 now, quit D2 at the start of (I think) season 14.
I go on the forums to keep an eye on the changes they're making, see if things are getting better or worse.
Whatever you end up playing in the future - I hope you have fun. 👍

Didn't read everything, but I say power lvl should ONLY be increased then new expansion hits the game. That's it.

Wow that was the shortest right to the point post I ever read. 🤣
