While anything new at this point would be a welcomed addition, they just won't put the manpower in to do something like this, especially with so many other things that need fixing. I think a nice compromise for ships would be something similar to warframe. If we could walk around our ship in orbit of even just move the ship around during loading screens, then ships wouldn't be such a dud. Customizing sparrows (particle effects, separate part colors, etc...) would be cool too, but I think would again take too much manpower. I like your idea, and would love to see them implemented, but like I said before, this games basically on auto pilot with a skeleton crew. Any new addition like this just unfortunately isn't realistic.
