I got Banned for running cheat engine in the background.

So I play many single player games, and use cheat engine quite often for it. I am relatively a new player to the game, even though I redeemed it back in 2019. I did not know that running cheat engine in the background can get you banned? So what exactly happened- I was playing with my friends on Discord, and cheat engine was running in the background as usual. Cheat engine sent out a notification for its update (usual updates that it sends, and as usual I decline it). The game goes into windowed mode as you would expect when we Alt+Tab. I decline it and go back to the game. There is black screen when it again goes to the fullscreen mode, but it got stuck, so as anyone would do, I Alt+F4 out, but it did not work, so I Ctrl+Alt+Esc and go to task Manager and end Destiny 2 application (I believe its a usual routine to do this, if any games get stuck), Then I told my friends to wait for me, not to start the next mission. I rebooted the game and joined my friend (from his invite), it was going fine, I was learning what customizations and all are there in game, and I was listening to them (Like I said, I am relatively a new player, my friends are too). My friend took us to some Europe place, where you meet a guy in the ruined tower. I was waiting for the mission to start. Suddenly there was an network error on the game. I checked through discord and asked my friends, if I am still connected to the internet (Because, its very common in India to lose internet connection now and then just like that), and discord was working fine. The disconnection took me to the title screen, and once I pressed enter, I saw that my account was banned. I was shocked to see what had happened, and I was explaining my friends what had happened. I tried doing a restart to see if it logged in, but it didn't. I then saw a notification on Steam, saying I have a game ban registered. I don't know if I was angry or disappointed, but I sure tried to find why I was banned. Steam couldn't help me because its a game developer who banned me. So me and my friends start to research about the bans, and one of them asked if my cheat engine was open in the background, to which I replied "Yes". He said, many people are banned because of the same thing, just running it in the background. He said that it maybe a permanent ban, I was amazed how the game banned me without a trial. I started to research, and saw the policy to ban are too strict. (Even the court of law gives a trial). The ban maybe my fault, not knowing completely that running cheat engine and third party applications in background may ban me (not using it too) I dont know if the developers will unban me or not, but this has affected my steam account as well, I can see a record if I open my profile that I am banned, and to be honest I am more mad about that, that it affects my entire steam account. I have puts alot of hours and money in this steam account and it does not seem good too. I just want Bungie to know that I got like 5 players to play destiny because I wanted a co-op game to play with friends, but now its sad to see my friends play without me. I dont know what else to say, but this is the entire narrative of what happened, and I hope they review my appeal and unban me.
