I'm still so confused how you guys get all this community feedback and still do the exact opposite of what everyone is asking for. Yet you lose your entire player base in a couple months.
0 players want to do 9 million seraph tower events.
0 players want to farm Laurels for an event that literally just made generic bounties and offered no new activity.
0 players want to run Garden EVERY SINGLE WEEK because it's the ONLY raid source for Pinnacle gear.
0 players want mediocre loot, cheaters, recovs, and beaver errors in Trials.
0 players want their gear sunsetted. I'm actually OK with weapons being sunsetted, but our armor? WHY?
0 players want to do a nightfall that's twice as hard as a regular nightfall, but drops the SAME REWARDS?!
Like looking back, literally the only good thing you did this season was reel back HH Supernovas. But then you implemented a bunch of other toxic nonsense adjustments that broke the whole sandbox. (looking at you Antaeus)
The best meta this game has ever seen was just before you buffed Lord of Wolves for no reason and then broke that sandbox too then took 3 months to fix it. Go back to whatever that meta was, then make small adjustments from there.
This went from a game everyone loved, to a game everyone despised in a matter of two seasons. Yet you're getting CONSTANT feedback from the community and implementing none of it. Why?
As soon as ANYONE comes out with a half decent FPS looter shooter, Desitny 2 dies.

Numbers are down and trending down. Here is a great example for Xbox players wondering why PVP is a little tough right now. Warmind shows 45% PC and 18% Xbox. Of Xbox players 10% are in Quick Play. Steam shows about 50,000 people on now. If PC has 50,000 playing and is 45% of total, then there are only about 111,000 currently playing on all platforms . Xbox at 18% of total then with 10% in QP means that there are only around 2,000 total right now on Xbox in QP. That's a big part of why PVP has issues. The game has to find an Xbox match for current players right now with only about 2,000 people IN THE WORLD playing the game.

11 RespostasEveryone keeps pointing out DTR, but I can't help but wonder about that time they hid their numbers because they didn't want to be used as a reference. Which would only make sense if they were unreliable for some reason.

It's like destiny players don't understand basic data. 200k was the PEAK, the PEAK is never sustained, hence the word, PEAK. You can look up the definition of peak if you need further clarification.

Then I tried to make some Seraph towers but no one was there most of the time and yea what was the point, I quit way before guardian games. Imo crucible which I ususally play became a mess with the Hardlight meta. I am seriously doubting I ever will come back to this game... Its a mess... Some of us solo players want matchmaking but I doubt that will ever happen, it kind of ruins the fun imo. Us console players don't wanna spend time on the find fireteam app just to play... Imo the season model don't fit with this game. They should make a new standalone Destiny game for seasonal content...

I took off this season.... then jumped on a few days last week and this past weekend... got felwinters pretty quick.. played crucible and found out quickly that Surous is OP... got my grove and played Okay... then I logged off... it reminds me a lot of Curse of Osiris a lot... nothing is calling me to continue to play... I don’t care about missing out... if I don’t get the fourth horseman then so be it... they’ll drop it again...

Right now the new light system is what is keeping it afloat, and with these seasons when anyone considers that and how poorly Trials among other things that were released? If this was a full-priced game the player base would have dropped off again just like the base game/CoO after Forsaken. The other thing is, it's annoying how some try to use Destiny Tracker that puts out false numbers. [spoiler]Just saying, their numbers are false using other things to make up the numbers they put out. From what I understand they count Gambit as PvP and every single time the numbers are really low like when the base game lost 80% of the player base, the numbers were blocked. That's when this company lied trying to pass it off that the player base was lying that the numbers were that low. I'm going to clear this up. [b](They count the first game to make up the numbers as well. DT use to put up both games, the thing about it, both games showed the exact same numbers.)[/b] Later the director asked them not to show the option to see the first games numbers, that doesn't mean they stopped counting them. Then there are account recoveries especially now since trials, people that have multiple accounts for cheating, people like me that have 2 accounts. Plus you got to add the people that have accounts on multiple platforms. How does Destiny tracker get the data? because as far as I know, this company has to give it to them and they have proved they are not to be trusted.[/spoiler] Also, if I'm correct, doesn't this company put out the numbers for steam? If I'm wrong correct me because I don't trust any company that lies to their player base just to try to sell the next thing.

you know who really needs to go? the guy in charge of luke smith, that is the guy that keeps him there and its killing the player base, seems to me like he wont give that guy up no matter how much money hes loosing , thats the guy who needs to be replaced so he can kick luke smith to the curb right away and get this game back on its feet!

1 ResponderTake a look at that bridge troll they call a lead dev, see how incredibly UN credible he is from his past, and it’s easy to see why the games sinking IF it’s not intended. I think it’s intended, to drive people to their next game. Every franchise does this with long standing “mmo” style games when they are nearing the end of their lifespan. GTA v even just did it, giving the game out free and 500k to everyone that plays. That ruined the intake economy to the point even junk cars can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. And with gta v being the most grossing piece of media on record, out of all video games and movies ever made, how do you get that kind of a dedicated fan base to drop their hard earned account and go to the next game willingly? GTA 6 was just announced, look at that. It’s all in an effort to kill one game quietly and move to the next, claiming the next is so much better when in reality it’s made from resources they could implement now. Plus we know bungie has been working on a new IP for a while, whether it’s d3 or not, but most of their manpower is on that. All we have now are seasonal event creators who are now doing most of the updates week to week. Hopefully whatever they’re making is good..

2 RespostasSteam numbers. What's really cool is you can see the PC users numbers on Destinytracker.net pretty much match steam, so probably accurate. And since you know you have accurate numbers for PC you can use Warmind.io (when it's up) to extrapolate how many PS4 and XBOX players are currently on (well to within two sig figs anyways). Right now there are: 44k on PC 68k on PS4 49k on XBOX 1-2k on stadia. Roughly 163k in total. Knowing that, I think the 710k daily players yesterday is reasonable. I don' think they're faking the numbers. The game isn't dead, but I do wonder how many of the FTP players are going to be willing to cough up cash for a full expansion in the fall. Personally, I think recent Bungie handling of D2 seasons and the nerfing of go fast, along with the upcoming new consoles just might finally drop player counts (at least on consoles) to the lowest point in franchise history. That and I don't see PC numbers ever going significantly up again, unless they can actually eliminate cheating. The franchise is going on 6 years old, and it really hasn't evolved a whole lot. It only stands to reason that it'll die at some point. Especially with no D3 anywhere in sight.

2 RespostasPeople need to take into consideration that this is the most QUIET TIME OF THE YEAR while being AT THE END OF A SEASON with NO TRAILER FOR NEXT SEASON out yet. Don’t understand how this differs from the other 4 years of Destiny ... Also like to mention using just steam as your source is a poor critique as PC players are far more likely to own other games

2 RespostasI’ll be interested to see the Steam numbers when the next expansion drops, most of my friends aren’t buying the expansion on release for the first time and I imagine we aren’t the only one. It’s not just the sunsetting or all the nerfs, but I don’t think Bungie is capable anymore of creating engaging quality that’s worth buying if Shadowkeep and the seasonal quality if anything to go by.
