I've not been able to stomach reading twabs or watching streamers but I heard that armour was getting sunsetted.
I.... Don't understand what this means? Surely this makes no sense as you can change how your armour looks. It doesn't have perks as such like guns, it's just random stats. I don't get why this makes any sense, how it works, or what the justification is. Anyone?
Thanks.

18 RespostasEditado por TheArtist: 5/21/2020 1:20:32 PM1. Bungie is going from putting a seasonal mod slot in our armor to an ANNUAL one that will use any of the mods from the last 12 months. 2. Bungie is also putting an infusion cap on armor like they are doing with weapons. 3. So after 12 months, armor would no longer be able to be infused above that maximum...and it will no longer be able to equip any of the new mods that will be added to the game. Thus preserving the value of armor as a loot item to chase. 4. Like with weapon retirement, you will still be able to use that armor and those mods in OLD content and core activities (strikes, Crucible, Gambit, Open world, etc...) that doesn't requre you to be at-or-near level cap. 5. To help ease the transition, Bungie is adding a transmogrification system. So if you have a set of armor that you really like the look of and don't want to abandon that appearance....you can unlock the ability to turn it into a Universal Ornament that you can apply to ANY set of armor. (The EP armor set is going to be my first ornaments....) Why is Bungie doing this? Simple. a. With Armor 2.0 and the six-stat system, armor is becoming a significant source of player power. b. Without retiring armor, you'd recreate the same problem with armor that Bungie is trying to fix wtih the weapon system. c. You'd either get these extremely powerful builds come into the game that stay in constant use, and eventually forcing Bungie to nerf them, to jump start the game again.....or Bungie would be forced to make armor mods as bland as weapon perks have become. d. In PVP, without it, you'd have people basically grinding for three perfectly rolled armor sets....and then half the loot pool would become irrelevant. They just hang onto those sets of armor....and just apply different ornaments to them. IOW, you'd reduce the enter armor of armor sets into things that were only of cosmetic value. As I keep tellign people. This sort of stuff is standard industry practice to manage power and to protect the playability and longevity of loot games and MMOs. NO ONE else in the industry lets you keep loot forever....and drag it with you forever through the game. It breaks the game....and Bungie (after 5 years of stubborn refusal to accept this fact) is just finally bowing to the inevitable.

You do the math.

Shrike22498 you make some valid points and i agree that eververse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Editado por elite9Jay: 5/22/2020 1:25:08 AMThere are making it so you can turn them into ornaments, $15 for a full set of gear.
they want money
-
Because Bungie's logic is difficult to understand. We gave up long ago when we tried to understand why.
-
I hope they reverse the decision to sunset armour i've spent days it feels like trying to get 60+ stat rolls on my warlock, titan and hunter just to have a build i'm happy with. Now these cumguzzlers want me to spend even more time to get the same stats on new armour get screwed, there was a post by a community manager in 2014 saying that they should respect the time people have spent to get their gear upto a point were they are happy with their stats this is why i personally continued to play the game, now since reading all this about sunsetting my armour bungie can effectively seal themselves in that coffin we seen in corridors of time and then proceed to have the vex blow them up.
-
there going to phase out year 3 armors, BUT with the addition of transmog you make the year 4 armor look like any armor once you've earned it as an ornament in year 4. This change is happening so Bungie can update all vendors with new weapons and armor. Which will help clear clutter of old armors.
-
Armor can be transmog with in game effort OR silver. Now imagine that somewhere out there is a bunch of whales who will gladly pay silver to transmog the gear we can no longer bring forward. And there lies your answer.
-
Basically so they can force you regrind or buy new armour. It suxs, only logged in once since the last TWAB to continue the sniper apegun bugfest.
-
2 RespostasWell I'm glad I never invested any time grinding for the perfect armor roll, or to masterwork any of mine hehe...
-
3 RespostasYes everything you have will get sunset so you have to regrind everything for the next year ...
-
13 RespostasSimple: As stated on a TWAB, the transmogs will be tied "in-game effort OR Silver". Basically, You want to turn, let's say, the Dreaming City set into an ornament? Pay 2500 Bright Dust for each piece OR pay 2000 silver on the cash shop. If the brught dust economy stays as it is now, people that want said ornaments will have to spend a LONG time grinding bounties or going to the cash shop. Both are good to Bungie. On top of that, You'll have to regrind armor and mats to level it up if you want "top stats". With just one move, Bungie not made it "easier" to lead people to the cash shop and inflate play time. That's why.
-
2 RespostasIn other words their is ZERO reason to play or grind for anything currently. Bungie needs to think long and hard, about the apology they sent to this community back in 2014.
-
Gear in general is yes
-
You can't fix stupid. Their current plan can't be justified. It only confirms either they're completely lost and don't know what to do or they simply do no care. It's all 100% about pumping out a minimal amount of content from the maximum amount of $$$ and that's it.
-
You don't understand what it means or don't WANT to understand what it means? Sorry mate but way too many posts on this already so i really don't get how you're so unaware. It's going to happen - people don't like it - Bungie don't care. Here's the list. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/256060321?sort=0&page=0

Yep. Total trash. The RNG and the continuous grinding is terrible. I'm out.

Your gonna lose it all.

1 ResponderNo. Nt at all. There will be TRANSMOGRIFICATION! I know, I know. It's a pretty big word but, hear me out! You can make yer old armor an ornament! Just do a ..few... lost sectors and public event, you know the ones! Then, BAM you can make a piece of you favorite gear into an ornament! Dont want to do a ..few... public events 4 more times? Good news! There will be a silver option so you can use your time in real life, to EARN IT IN THE GAME!!! Now how innovative is that?!?

Didn’t you get the memo?

4 RespostasYou know, I'm not for it but knowing how most of the stats that drop for gear sucks or they haven't done jack shit with the venders when it comes to stats. I really don't know if this is actually a good thing or bad. See, on one hand, they could get off their butts and actually improve the stats in this game for gear instead of rigging them, and in the other, they could be making things worse right now as I type this. This is what we are dealing with when it comes to this company.

Justification: “We have no loot in this game, so we will take yours and if you want it, go take it back”
