None of your weapons are disappearing. The light cap will just require new weapons for the new activity. You want to use your old weapons, you still can, just not in the new activities. Everything that exists at the time of your weapons drop to a year later is still playable and viable. At present there is no reason to use new weapons over old weapons.

So, you are saying that the godrolls grinded specifically for PvP and PVE High activities (The ones that are the really REWARDING and HARDER on this game) are suposed to be used on what? Patrols? Good luck getting to the lighthouse or fighting with low power lvl on Iron Banner/ Trials and GMN's Quick example of mine: Grinded about 60 forges to get a God Rolled Blast Furnace >Drop Mag >Feeding Frenzy >Kill Clip So, somehow it's a time wasted effort like most of the people that focused builds around those grinds and that's fine?

You can use those in every static activity. Like using it in LW? You can still do that. What about SotP? You can still do that. Weapons having a 1 year life span is plenty fair. At present there is no reason to grind for any other weapons.

    I mean, the Blast Furnace I presented here has no purpose on those other activities(raids, and strikes, and any other you mentioned) (because of drop mag). So it's fine to regrind it 60 forges just to get it updated? There are Builds and Perk combinations intended only for specific end-game activities.(Like the blast furnace i mentioned) Bungie should do another roll of perks (Like they did on gambit prime) to make other gear more appealing on specific activities. But they chose the Lazy way, and some people are clapping for that, probably never grinded for some specific rare god roll.

Having different weapons in trials and iron banner is good. Majority of people don’t use the gambit prime armor. The meta weapons this season are almost all weapons from over a year ago. We need change.

    Out of this "Avalible on normal bla-bla activities" that's the obvious and only casuals care much for those. We are speaking here about the endgame,activities that really matter and high power req. activities If it's good NOW and gets sunsetted. People are going to literally REFARM IT just to keep up, they have just "exploded the tower again" so we can grind the Sht we already had. People are mad not because "OOOH MY FAVORITE WEAPON" if you look at the posts people are complaing mainly due to losing things(PLS read the first paragraph,WE KNOW they ll not vanish) with less than 5% drop rate needing a TON of hours to get. - Literally a disrespect for the player base that had a pursuit on that. It's like (ex) a Spare Rations with "Firmly Planted" and "Field Prep" is worth bs.(But kill clip + rapid hit is golden) IT'S NOT THE "WEAPON" it's the "Overall performance + Perks" If they do not introduce the SAME weapons for us to regrind - being the case people ll do that just keep up. Introducing new weapons with new names BUT with the same stats as the old sunseted weapons is literally "LOOK SPARRY RATERS not Spare Rations, that's a different handcannon >Not sunseted< but with the same stats" The only way to introduce a "Meta breaking" thing is to make items related to their activities.

New weapons have no reason to exist if your old weapons are just as good or better.

  • I am curious on how the artifact will come in to play in this matter. So if we equipped a weapon that is 50 , 75, 100+ power lower, how high does the artifact bonus have to be to counteract the discrepancy. I mean unless Bungie raised our power by 200 or more but I don't see a 50 power increase keeping people from using sunsetted gear

I’d assume that season 12 will be higher than that.
