It isn’t. The numbers have never been lower. It’s only going to get worse now. Luke Smith is killing off this game.

Looking at things now, with all the negative posts, I doubt there’s going to be ANY veterans, other then the YouTube shills, left to play the game. I thinking that Theor ENTIRE playerbase left will be new light players. No experience in raiding or high level content. No one to Sherpa them. Raid participation will probably be almost nonexistent, with no guides left to help newcomers. The new raid will be a barren wasteland which no one is participating in. New lights won’t be able to teach themselves, even with a video. They’ll try, get frustrated, then permanently give up on raiding. Pretty much all other high level content won’t be achievable for new lights, as they won’t be able to survive in it without a veteran to help them. They abandon hope of doing those. Won’t be long until they find nothing to do in game, and then quit destiny. More new lights come in. Repeat listed above. At this rate, the only choice that bungie will have to keep the game going is to capitalize on new light players and make the entire game significantly easier. Raids and high level content get dubbed down. Challenge dies. YouTube shills complain. Bungie is forced to chose between the YouTube shills, or the new lights. They choose the YouTube shills, they now have to increase the prices on everything, because all their money coming in is from new lights buying stuff before they give up on the game. They choose the new lights, the YouTube shills may decide to stop covering the game and find a different one. Either that or always complain the game is to easy and annoy bungie, trying to get them to cave in. In either case, bungie is risking everything on this move. If this fails, destiny dies, and they’ll more then likely consider destiny a lost cause and shut down the servers to focus purely on their matter ip. There’s an old saying. Don’t gamble what you can’t afford to lose.

I’d rather the game lost its [i]free to play[/i] status All that does is over saturate the playerbase with folk whom don’t have the full content/seasonal dlc And therefore aren’t invested in what’s going on in the game itself (or bothered with issues caused by Bungie) Bring back fully paid up (and importantly, BRILLIANTLY designed & executed) DLC and players that are involved in the game, because A: It’s really worth the money & time & B: A well crafted & maintained game with great writing, campaign, strikes, crucible & raids etc will [b]always[/b] sell well ....cut back on Eververse store and concentrate on quality rewards, earnable & desirable in content! I don’t mind if the next big September/October comet release is £100, as long as it’s in the style of [b]Forsaken[/b] in size, depth & quality (multiple raids, locations, adventures, new challenges (enemy, loot subclasses etc) A proper multi threaded campaign would be great Shallowkeep was a huge let down, and the FOMO seasons are just embarrassing

These forums are ALWAYS negative. No matter what. Bungie can do literally everything these guys want they will STILL complain. Go to reddit. When reddit is complaining. You know it’s bad, but for the most part reddit is really mature and levelheaded. Use that as your base

The thing is, Like less then 10%of the community are active forum user, and I’m pretty sure even less post and express their opinions. So even if there is a bunch of negative here and Reddit, it’s still only a fraction of the player base.

Depends on how we decide to look at things. Depends which view you wish to take the analytical or the one based on feelings. One I'd say would make the game bad the other makes it great (to most anyways).

Ok you make a lot of good points, but also a lot of terrible ones. Not all nerfs are good but a lot of them are necessary. There is nothing wrong with Bungie trying to balance their game, and if you have a problem with specific nerfs that’s totally ok and we can debate that. But don’t imply “NeRfs aRe BaD.” Would you want LoW to be OP forever on pc or Hardlight to be op forever on all platforms? You just said the game is 30 FPS and lags even when in inventory. I hate to to yell this, but that is not really Bungie’s fault. At this point, they have put out so much content, the game is so big that consoles can barely handle this game anymore. And your internet connection is probably bad. Trust me, if bungie could increase FPS on console, they would. But consoles just can’t handle it. Now you said this game runs on 30 FPS, implying you play on console. But you said cheating is rampant. Well, quite simply, it isn’t. There are cheaters on console. There are quite a few DDOS cheaters. But it is probably isn’t as bad as you think it is. It is nothing like how bad it is on pc. Cheating is much more a problem on pc then on console, just like how FPS is a console problem and not pc. And finally you called this game [b]Pay to Play[/b]... 😂 ... the game is free.

They probably just look at objective data regarding seasonal pass purchases and eververse sales. Daily logins are likely impactful in their decision-making as well. This isn't to say they dont' take into account the feedback from this board and reddit/twitter as well. Just that you should take the salt from this forum with a grain of salt =)

It’s true, but people still play it anyway. I still do. How and when I play it has changed over the years. I am a one character player now. I do what’s new and then take a break. I originally took a LONG break between Taken King and Warmind, but here I still am. The universe/story is great. Some people stick around or return because of that. That’s why I do. The gunplay/combat is great. Some people stick around or return for that. They seem to cater to the actual game model over the actual universe/combat and I think that’s the issue. The package that the universe and combat are wrapped in is rigid and impractical, and it breeds this negativity because they refuse to acknowledge what the player base actually is and continue to try to force the players to match the game instead of making the game match the players. Which is something that will never work. It just dwindles the base down to a barely sustainable amount.

I don’t know how they do it either. Most of the comments on this forum are either personal attacks, totally delusional or self entitled. Bungie are a great developer and this game has issues but they obviously care enough to try and fix them. Yet all they ever hear is the incoherent shouting from whichever sub section of the community they’ve annoyed. I say, let them build their own game and if you’re not happy then just put the controller down and wait for your survey to come through. Would love these forums to actually be helpful tips, weapon suggestions and funny in-game stories.

I wouldn't use the forum as your platform and take their wording as an indictment of the content. Depending on who you ask, this is a grand step ahead of what we used to have. Depending on who you ask, this season isn't to favorable. Depending on who you ask, there are many cynics here that can never be pleased because they want impossible things or things that just do not jive with the system. You have to be fair here. Yes there are people who don't like some of the aspects of the game. There are also many more that do. A lot of decisions and changes that they've made were due to feedback and it's due to the lion share of the community saying things. I'd be careful and how you construct your argument if you're going to use the community as a whole. If we were one person, we would be bipolar, cynical and optimistic. We'd cry and laugh at the same time. It's ugly...
