A break won't be enough. Unless a lot of players put the game down (which won't happen because fanboys) to the point where the concurrent player count across all platforms is half of what it is now for a few months, nothing will change.

I stopped playing D1 style ( 3 am finishes, would actually engage with LfG) after warmind. I just play Destiny 2 with extremely low expectations. It very much involves getting to legend in glory via solo queue (great quality of life edition) but then I just switch to watching tv until Tuesday. Then I just contribute my 40000 fractaline for the effort and sign off again. I will always love the game but the spark that D1 had is forever gone. It gets harder and harder to sign on but I want to finish what was started five years ago so I’ll always support (not through micro transactions) the game until the very end.

I feel like a break isn’t really a threat, more or less something you should do. Taking breaks let’s me wind down on destiny, or any game, and then I can jump back in and have fun with friends again.

I’ve never really cared for Izanagi’s and given how much damage it can do and the fact it takes special ammo, it’s a pretty obvious nerf. No distractions is utterly pointless on the gun though because it’s a timed effect. Last Word is finally getting crunched - about time tbh. PvE felt in a decent place this season, quite a wide variety of weapons to use and while I didn’t like that HCs were completely useless in most endgame activities - it was refreshing using Pulse Rifles in PvE - I hope the changes have a similar effect with special weapons but before shotguns become meta in PvE, stomp mechanics have to be reduced.

Fully agree, Bungie doesn’t care, they don’t give 2 shits about respecting their player base. So why should we show an ounce of respect back! It’s just pathetic how bad this game has become. Nothing but a group of talentless hacks without Activision now.

This year I was officially diagnosed with DDD (Destiny Deficit Disorder). I played destiny for at least 16 hours a day, sometimes 24 hours a day across multiple days and even weeks. It started harming my mental and physical health as well as my social and academic life. Destiny was a part of my life that I couldn’t get rid of no matter how hard I tried. I started attending counselling sessions and group therapy, even rehab for a short time. No matter what I couldn’t get enough and I thought this vicious cycle would never end. Then, finally during season of dawn, the game got so hilariously bad that I woke up one day and decided to stop playing it. That day changed my life and made me realize everything I lost through playing so much Destiny. If you are experiencing similar symptoms I encourage you to navigate to your Storage settings on your PC or console, find Destiny 2, and click “Uninstall”. I promise you it will change your life for the better and cure your illness.

It’s pretty clear that they want people to play a very specific way. Whenever people find and use good and powerful gear in effective ways that make the game “easier” than they want it to be.... they nerf, they take away, they weaken player ability/capability. I don’t even know why I’m shocked anymore that they somehow manage to continue to make the game even MORE rigid at this point. It’s so meticulously specific and rigid that it practically suffocated itself. I can only imagine what this series could be if it opened up and gave players choice and had some variance.

I'd say go for other games that have the developers listening actively to their community or actively participating in it. If you don't enjoy Destiny 2, I understand because I'm also in the same boat, along with a good chunk of my friends, though their reasons are mainly because the game has very little to offer nowadays. Find other games that you can play with your friends, like Warframe, or GTA Online, or Talisman, or anything that you will enjoy playing. I'm just grinding for the last couple weeks of this season to get the title, and checking out to see what the next season offers. If the next season is lackluster like this one proved to be over the course of time, then I'll probably skip out on that one and find another game to take up my free time.

That's what I'm doing. Heck this is the first time back to the forums even since I left 3-4 weeks ago, and it was originally only to make a quick post about something I saw on facebook about next season. Decided I look and see what was all in the forums currently and suffice it to say it looks like things have only gotten worse since I started my break.

And with all that you still playing all day long. I guess people like you are bored and trying to get some attention from forums... Good luck with Destiny.

They need to add pvp and pve load outs that can’t get mixed. So you need to grind for both separately. Cause for pvp the current state is as dump. It’s basically just who grinded the better weapon wins.

I hear ya. Keep hoping to hear good news to make me want to come back but its sadly just the opposite. All good things must come to an end and Destiny hasn’t been good for a while now.

Just now? The game has been an unrewarding trash heap of poor thought out uninspired content since Forsaken. Bungie has done the bare minimum development work to keep the seasonal schedule going. No new loot. Endless grind. No satisfying end game to most players. Just mediocre horde modes. It's a cluster with no end in sight. It is what it is. It's also not open for debate. The thing that still works is...once you get past the grind...and you finished the "content" you can get back to the fun of just playing. It's a fun experience to run strikes with friends and play crucible...the mechanics and power fantasy is awesome (when they arent trying to nerf that fun into the ground). It's a shame they game lacks inspiration and the end game focus is just gatekeeping most players away from content and the experience of the best stuff in the game (raids) Bungie just dont care. Or like they said they dont have the depth or resources to give us our monies worth.

Yea my crew is on similar thought. One said he’s probably done with destiny for good. I explained the nerfs and reason which just about sent him over the edge.
