title, supers and heavy are not competitive. the first and easiest step to fixing your competitive playlist is removing supers and heavy.
Edit: I didnt expect this post to actually get any traction so I’ll elaborate a little bit. I am well aware that the “space magic” is a huge part of destiny which is fine, and its not like im asking for a removal of abilities completely because I think that would be wrong. However, it doesnt take a genius to understand that supers are broken overpowered and one of the biggest problems in crucible right now. You should not die to the same striker or dawnblade twice back to back in a COMPETITIVE playlist, that is ridiculous. In regards to heavy I know it is somewhat needed to prevent camping but there are solutions to this. For example remove clash from the playlist, shorten the length of survival rounds or something. If it has to stay in comp then the spawn time needs to be significantly reduced.
Edit 2: to be clear I would prefer heavy spawns be reduced and a ban on super mods, light reactor, pump action, and remote connection as well as super armour being nerfed to D1 status over both just being removed outright. But that is a lot of work for bungie who already doesnt do much at all in the pvp department, it is a simpler fix to just remove both and maybe reimplement them at a later date when they care more.

Editado por livin like larry: 7/24/2019 1:07:08 AMHeavy is such a detriment for sure, and supers are also a problem mostly bc of super mods, and how unkillable some are (aka bottom tree striker). Hopefully once Shadowkeep comes around, super damage resistance will be adjusted. I thought maybe if they decided to keep supers in comp, just make it so everyone can only get one super a match, how they use said super, is up to the player. Heavy can definitely be taken out no question tho lmao.

Heavy and super are extremely annoying... but they serve a purpose (mostly breaking up campers) Here’s what needs to change: Heavy should be removed from survival Heavy weapons should get about half as much ammo as they currently do. Supers need resistance reduced to D1 levels (so that adaptive frame snipes can kill them unless they run max armor) That’s it.

In my personal opinion I think comp should have a completely different play style to other modes, since trials isn’t coming back anytime soon. Although I doubt my opinion will be shared by the majority of players. I’ll put it in a spoiler.
Since it’s comp, it would make sense if it was more skillbased, right? Well currently that’s hard to achieve with certain weapons outclassing others entirely along with a fast ttk meaning that it’s more about what weapon you have than how good you are and who sees who first. As an example I can be however good I want with an auto rifle but anyone with a last word will likely kill me faster. First step to achieve this goal would be to make the ttk slower in comp. A slower ttk not only means the game will be more about skill and less about who saw who first, but it would also make it easier to balance weapons since they have more room to work with. Imagine how difficult it is balancing weapons when some can kill in less than a second? The second step would be locking out certain weapons that would be too much of an advantage for those who have them, this is so that those weapons can stay powerful in other activities without bungie needing to change them only for comp. To go along with those changes that lean towards more skillful play, special and heavy ammo would also need changes. While special weapons aren’t as op as some people might claim, they are still much better than primaries and with the amount of special that goes around in crucible you can practically use a special the whole game and never have to worry about ammo. To me this is a problem, as it goes against the name “special weapon” since they aren’t special in the slightest. I think the best course of action for this new comp would be to only allow you to spawn with special at the beginning of the game. After that the only ways to get special is to kill opponent and pick theirs up like how it works currently, except the amount of ammo you pick up would be reduced. Alongside that instead of heavy ammo spawning every couple minutes it would be special ammo, sort of like how it worked in d1 where everybody who’s near it and on the same team of whoever picks up special ammo will get a few shots. So what about heavy? Well again I’d think it would be better to go back to the d1 system, where instead of heavy spawning every couple minutes it would only spawn once or twice a game in something like control or clash, but in round based modes there would be a heavy round halfway through. This would eliminate the current issue of every comp game almost exclusively being a fight for heavy and whoever gets it first wins the game most of the time. As for supers, I think the use of super mods should be restricted so that they can’t be used at all, or can’t stack. As I believe this creates too much of an advantage against players who don’t use all super mods, since comp should be more about skill and less of who has the better gear I think this would be a good change. Of course with the upcoming super changes it’s hard to be sure what to change about supers since I don’t know what exactly will be changed and how. Well those are my ideas to make a better comp, they need a little work and I’m sure most will disagree but I’m certain that those changes (or at least some of them) would lead to a comp more about skill which is what it should be about, although if trials comes back then these changes should definitely be reserved for that.
Editado por [SiN]大き氷: 7/23/2019 6:12:22 PMAll of the people saying to go play cod don't realize they are playing it with destiny. All because of a thematic difference lol. I'd rather see supers and abilities take brains to use, and have them be more frequent. Risk reward, and a lack of combat options is what's missing I find. Heavy is kinda okay to me except for machine guns which were always braindead lasers. That said they moved oneshots out of heavy only so weeee. Why care about gameflow. Pretty sure I've replied to this before but still.
-
If this was a unique Competitive mode I can see how it would be a welcome relief.
-
2 RespostasI agree with supers. Keep abilities, those I feel are fine. However, most supers really do not have a counter other than another super. As for heavy, I feel it should spawn either less ammo for things like grenade launchers or rockets like worcliff.
-
9 RespostasSounds like the solution is for you to play a different game
-
Then you still run into Jotunn and grenade launchers, personally I'd love an option that's your base character with the broken white weapons.
-
1 ResponderSo you want yr1 d2 back?
-
There should be like “what do you want to ban” type of thing at the beginning of comp. Like people from both teams decide which thingns they want banned then everyone would get one minute to appropiate their loadout
-
I think come should be like trails of Osiris. Simple tdm I think supers are so strong in d2 that they should be very limited but not disabled but heavy should be one round like trials then maybe people would be honorable and wave on heavy
-
4 RespostasGo play another game then that doesn't have space magic perhaps. Fortnite sounds more your forte. Or better yet, a random Nintendo switch kids game.👌
-
1 ResponderDaily reminder that this game is called “Destiny”, not “Call of Duty”. Clearly that’s the game you want so go play that instead of asking to transform this game into that.
-
2 RespostasOr, supers could just be balanced so a sniper headshot from a 90 or 72 RPM sniper drops them and a headshot from an aggressive frame shotgun followed by a melee drops them...
-
1 ResponderDaily reminder that posts like these belong in the trash. See you tomorrow when you spam another one.
-
Add a pick and ban for items subclasses and certain exotics then make matches reward more points to compensate for the longer match time remove all super mods and have a mercy rule where you lose less points if half your team leaves during a match
-
8 RespostasLOL no, i would hardly ever get killed if that happened. Destiny isnt an aim only game. I play CSGO for that.
-
4 RespostasMore importantly, PVP should not be in Destiny. Problem solved.
-
1 ResponderHow about make a version of comp that strips all abilities? Everyone gets a standard issue crucible pistol with limited ammo, only way to get more is through kills.
-
Less prevalent, definitely. Not removed completely.
-
Remove all competitve gameplay, crucible became a shit show after they introduced Trials back in D1.
-
Wait, you waste your time daily? Shocker.
-
Bungie just needs to introduce a “strictly gunplay” competitive mode where Supers and Heavy are not available. On the other hand, I would also luv to see a mode where one could equip more than one Exotic armor and weapon.
-
4 Respostasyou want cod, go play cod. if your argument was to increase the wait time for a super then sure but not get rid of supers and heavys
-
2 RespostasReduced? Just a tad. Removed? No might as well play another game.
