Edit: Tarrabah could have been a similar weapon to Mountaintop with solar damage. Or, Tarrabah’s Ravenous Beast perk could allow it to fire solar missiles for the duration. Mountaintop can still be used in the kinetic slot, raiders get a similar weapon that is fun and actually good. Problem solved.
TLDR: Tarrabah is exotic but is not competitive for a slot in raid loadouts compared to Recluse. The raid exotic should be an equal or more powerful option in the raid than a PVP legendary. Far less people would complain if Tarrabah was actually good.
PvP pinnacle weapons are important to the game. I understand and embrace that. But honestly, why should the raid exotic, the pinnacle item of the raid, be less competitive (and by no small margin) than legendaries obtained in PVP? This is my gripe.
I don’t care that Mountaintop and Recluse are good. They SHOULD be good for how hard they are to obtain.
I absolutely do NOT want Mountaintop or Recluse nerfed. The issue I have is that these guns are powerfully outcompeting PVE pinnacle weapons in PVE activities. The reason is that guns like Tarrabah and basically every other gun from Crown of Sorrow do not even come close to touching them. I see that as a problem because I believe the raid weapons should be powerful, especially in the raid. But they just aren’t seen in top builds.
In conclusion, Tarrabah is not competitive in the raid and takes up an exotic slot whereas Mountaintop and Recluse are legendaries that are more powerful by their own merit and in allowing for the use of other exotics. I see this as a problem that should be addressed in future content by making the raid exotic at least competitive for a slot in a raid loadout.
