So my buddy DMing our upcoming campaign came over today bro hang out for a bit and build my new character. I like to roll random races and backgrounds. Originally I was going to be a Stinky Fish Elf Disney Princess Ranger, but our caster had to drop out for work, so I set that character aside for another day and rolled an Air Genasi Street Urchin Wild Magic Sorceress!
Wild Magic, for them what dunno its, makes random stuffs happen. DM can ask you to roll for a "Surge" and if you roll a one, the spell goes Wild. Sometimes it's a fireball centered on yourself, sometimes it's a Magic Missle aswell as whatever you cast, and sometimes it's a beard of feathers until you sneeze. Very Sheogorath.
But! I'm going to be playing my buddies Homebrew for even more crazy! Instead of whenever the DM says, I roll for ALL THE SPELLS. Even cantrips! Also, surges happen on a 1 + the Spell slots level or under. On top of that, he has a special chart with a lot more options on it that he won't let me see because some of the effects happen when I say or do something. So I'll roll and he'll tell me the outcomes.
Speaking of which, he had me roll on the chart five times to have some backstory and possibly permanent effects. I don't remember the numbers but heres what happened:
1st roll: Each creature within 30 feet of you takes 1d10 Necrotic Damage and you regain Hit Points equal to the damage dealt...normal folks don't really have many Hit points... DM narrated this as the first time her magic went wild. She cast an illusion to distract a merchant so she could swipe some bread. And then everyone around her died. I rolled a stealth check to GTFO and had a good cry. I decided because of this, she relies more on her skills than her magic.
2nd Roll: roll a d10. Your age changes by that many years. Subtracting for Odd and adding for Even. I rolled a 5 so my 23 became an 18. Oh noooo how awful!
3rd Roll: "On your next turn, you can't take any actions, instead you vomit 1d100 Silver!" I got 56 free monies!
4th Roll: I turned into a potted plant for a minute.
Final Roll: The Age one. Again. "Well what are the odds you'll roll odd again?" I rolled a 7. So, my character now appears to be 11.
I mean. All in all it could've gone worse! I'm pretty excited to accidentally kill my entire party or turn everyone into frogs or something. I haven't made any D&D posts in awhile so I figured I'd ramble for a bit. Bye!

2 RespostasYour character has a tragic backstory...
she has to go through puberty twice
1 ResponderWhat is D&D?
-
3 Respostas... Elsa? Now what the heck is going on here?
-
3 RespostasPart of me wants to make a DND character/world, but honestly I don’t even know what the -blam!- to base it on or know how it actually works lol
-
2 RespostasIf you watched the youtube dnd series Dingo Doodles, I can imagine that you're experience with wild magic could've gotten much much worse than you'd think.
-
1 ResponderMy friends and I made a homemade version of D&D at school. Long story short, one of the burned an entire forest and almost nuked the Earth.
-
6 Respostasit seems the ganasi wild magic character is suddenly growing in popularity, lol. I'm making one and my friend made one for another campaign.

1 ResponderOnce played wild magic sorcerer and the party had to infiltrate a administrative building. In the 5 surge rolls I made, 4 of them were “increase size category by 1”, turning my character into a colossal creature. By the end of the session, the DM described how the citizens screamed as a tarrasque-sized Eladrin lifted his arm and collapsed a building or two. That was the end to that game.

1 ResponderSomething about the stray chance of unintentionally turning a character into a hamburger durring a boss fight sounds like the best way to go.

1 ResponderThis should be playing when you start slinging magic around!

Editado por SGT Bronson: 6/26/2019 3:17:44 PMI miss DnD. My group hasn't gotten together in a year. I need to know if my Warlock companion gets the power he was promised or if my Fighter/Rogue ever gets to meet his parents.

1 ResponderInteresting stuff, never played a sorcerer before, but always wanted to
-
2 RespostasI'm also gonna make my first character with cell, I got a good enough roll for a paladin so that's what I'm doing
-
4 RespostasI’m gonna create my first ever character soon... Hats off to Ronin and Millionblue! Also wild magic sounds like something I’d like. Reminds me of... The Wabbajack.

2 RespostasI like how this character is kinda OP, yet that OP is also dangerous to her. I can see why she would be all about her skills and not her powers, it makes sense! Need to see more of that in some of these stories around here.
Not yours, I love your stories.
That sounds like a LOT of fun. I love D&D, especially home brew. I’ve homebrewed 5 classes of my own, over 15 bosses, and more. It’s a lot of fun.
All my stuff still needs to be reviewed and/or play tested.
1 ResponderI've come up with ideas for several different characters and items, mostly focusing on one or two attributes(?) just to play as a broken character.
Also side note, after replaying Dragon Age: Origins, I imagine you as basically Morrigan
Editado por Unseelie Nil: 6/26/2019 1:23:57 AMMore I think on this character, the more I think I should take my first level in Rogue. We're starting at lvl 3 so I can be a bit flexible. Edit: totally meant to edit this into the main post but I'm dumb. Whatevs.
