In an attempt to escalate his infiltration and recruitment of Guardians, Calus attempts to hack the Deep Stone Crypt to "affect" an Exo the way that he possessed the custodial frames of Benedict and Werner (and possibly unknown others). The attempt results in a merging of the backups of Cayde, Banshee, Lakshmi, and a failed attempt (by Calus) of creating an artificial Exo essence of himself. The resulting personality is all of the personalities rolled into a new character personality that is unknowingly uploaded to an existing Exo hunter guardian at reset. (yes, I may be retconning a bit here). The "new" Exo hunter becomes a freespirited hardass smartass without a measure of fear, yet with a slightly less compassionate and more brutal side. He has a constantly flowing sense of humor, only it is much drier and more sarcastic than his predecessor. He stands out from his hunter peers in a grand fashion and is made the new hunter vanguard. Ikora respects him for his dauntless pursuit of his beliefs, though she trusts his decisions less than she did Cayde since he is more bold in his actions than even Cayde. Zavala flat out can't stand the guy, and they are at odds constantly and with greater animosity than Cayde and Zavala had previously. Keanu plays the new Exo hunter. At least, I think that would be cool. I'll crawl back under my rock now.
