The video linked in this post gives a demonstration of speed shooting with the lever action rifle.
- Notice how the shooter still has great control over his rifle and the recoil is very manageable.
- Lever guns in general are well balanced and comfortable to shoot.
- They can fire the same ammunition as hand cannons / revolvers , but with more control and you can can keep your gun on target whille ejecting spent rounds.
- They have a high capactiy tubular magazine and great knock down power.
- with the information provided, lever guns could be a good counter to hand cannons / shotguns. if someone does try to close the distance with you, having that knock down power and being able to speed shoot like in the video would be amazing to have.
Adding lever action rifles to the game would be awesome. The rifle allows the person to have control of how fast or slow they wish to shoot. They are there own class of rilfe and the weapon could help give players another option and role to choose from. Being able to have the same knock down power of a hand cannon along with slightly more range and accuracy, more rounds to shoot, and be able to keep your weapon on target with more stability are great reasons to add lever action rifles to the game.
- Having this type of rifle in the game i think would be a great substitute for people who may not have or do not wish to obtain the "Chaperone" or "The Last Word"
- For those who already have those exotics, just imagine having a lever action rifle to pair that with those weapons and bring out your inner cowboy.

1 Responderas much as i would like to see lever actions in the game, how about we fix the ones we have, so all weapon types are viable?

It’d be like a sniper and a scout rifle had a baby. A very sexy baby

7 Respostas.... Using wild west rifle trickshots maybe isn't the best way to address this... It looks stable but the spread on firing a gun like that is going to be significant past iron sights range. If you could throw a rock and hit the target, most of those bullets would have landed on target, much beyond that, you're going to start missing the target. I would be okay with it if they added special ammo scout rifles that do a ton more damage in exchange for much worse ammo economy, and if they want to make those slow firing lever rifles I'm good on that... But trick shots are designed to look cool, not be efficient in combat. For that matter a lot of lever rifles use a gravity system for ejection and chambering rounds so that little terminator wrist flick you see in the movies won't do jack unless it's a rifle that's built to tolerate stupidity. That said.................................. Far as things like tubes and stuff... I really, really do not think that the guns in destiny fire bullets. Not even the "kinetic" weapons. I think they fire something of a kinetic force energy pulse. I've always felt that hand cannons were created by some long forgotten hunter who decided they needed something more effective at close range so they cut the barrel and stock, and wired in an overclocked battery pack, after continued tinkering they found the design of an old world revolver just happened to be the most effective and streamlined design for the cut off high powered cqc weapon..................... This is ironically in keeping with the actual development of the handgun. Muskets were around much longer than their sidearm counterparts. Though one wonders how many times the unknown hunter in question blew their hand off in experimenting with the right ratio of weight to barrel to how much power the capacitors could hold without overloading and.... Requiring the guardian to arrange a respawn to get their hand back...

1 ResponderThat sounds cool and all, but I'd rather have more Trace Rifles and more Linear Fusion Rifles because we will very soon be Two Years in the Second Golden Age with things like Rasputin, Omolon, Viest, and even the Fallen making futuristic weapons.
I want more science fiction in my science fiction fantasy game is what I'm trying to say. I like the style of Tex Machanica but I want more technology based weapons...
3 RespostasI myself think lever action rifles are cool, especially because they shoot revolver rounds. HOWEVER. They really dont make sense in the destiny universe. We already have a bunch of weapon types that could be great but they are being ignored. Also if you want a lever action, the closest thing right now is the chaperone, and all scout rifles. Sorry to say, but lever action rifles are also technologically obsolete. It makes zero sense to have them in any aspect, especially next to hand cannons.

3 RespostasEditado por Racebum: 6/10/2019 7:51:49 PMBecause weapons out of the 19th century fit the theme of space shooters...seriously. revolvers are bad enough Then again what am I saying. We have a bow and arrow. Perhaps sling shots next that are stronger than rocket launchers

6 RespostasOverman19921008 You make some valid points and i agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

3 RespostasLever Action looks cool and that's why we want it. It is in no way better than semi/full auto Rifles.

22 RespostasEditado por LOGAN906: 6/10/2019 12:14:02 PMYou realize this is a space fantasy shooter that takes place in the future, right? The fact that we have any conventional weapons at all still boggles my mind and you want to go back to the 1880's. Perfect.

3 RespostasEditado por ClothingOptionaI: 6/10/2019 8:56:13 PMThere's a lever action gun in PUBG. It's hot garbage and no one uses it unless it's all they can find. Chaperone and Last Word are fairly easy to obtain and really don't take that long.

5 RespostasChaperone is lever action.

1 ResponderYou wasted a lot of time on that post, when it would have been sufficient to say "Because they're friggin' cool." There's no need to justify 'em through any attempt at realism. Not in a game with super space bows and super space swords. They're just cool, and that's more than enough reason to get us some lever-action rifles.

As SASS (single action shooting society) shooter, and the owner of 7 lever guns, they sure are fun. Although, how much kick they have is based on the caliber and load of the shells. For instance, my 45-70 can damage your collarbone if fired incorrectly, but my .357 with competition loads barely feels like it's shooting. "High capacity" is relative as well. .357 holds 13. 45-70 only holds 6, including the one in the chamber. Also, reload is SLOW. like a shotgun. One at a time. Still, tex mechana would be the clear maker of these. Id think they be fun.

1 ResponderHow dare you spread this pro gun video(Jk I love guns)

3 RespostasGet out of here with your realistic guns

1 ResponderEditado por LethiaAlethia: 6/10/2019 3:55:00 PMTo everyone saying distant future needs totally new weapons: Writers and designers generally lack imagination there or intentionally don't push the boundaries too far because people might not like groundbreaking new stuff. Let's face it: There is a Call of Duty-er in all of us. A gun fascist who would test out and have a closet with guns in RL if not for unintended mortal harm and/or laws preventing you from owning guns too easily. And I bet you wouldn't want those go all pewpewpew on you and have no feeling to them whatsoever. Because honestly, in a future as distant as the one in Destiny with space magic and all we would realistically not be wielding guns anymore. We would either be sending robots into battle or fry the brains of our foes with mere psychic power - be there are a Traveler or not. Realism and creativity can only go so far before it stops being fun, you're starting to think "What the -blam!- is this?" and turn to something else that won't make you feel as stupid and uncanny. The same goes for stuff like ammo consumption and packs as was mentioned in another thread. In the actual future guns may not be consuming ammo anymore or be loaded with one singular type of ammo that for example would adapt to the fitting calibre on the spot via nanomachines or somesuch - or again through sheer mind power. Deus Ex: Invisible War tried that and people hated it. It was the far future but the players were missing individual ammo packs for their guns.
