Here are three perspectives on the permissibility of homosexuality.
BIBLICAL, as I understand it.
It is ACCEPTABLE to be homosexually inclined. No law against it.
It is UNACCEPTABLE to have homosexual sex. Gays may be Christian, as long as they are not sexually active. Yes, certain denominations have decided to give their blessing to it, but I don't see how it fits the theology.
It is ACCEPTABLE to hate homosexual sex. Whether you regard it as a sin, or whether you regard it as physically harmful, or whether it just grosses you out... totally OK to hate it.
It is UNACCEPTABLE to hate homosexuals. I John 4:20 bans hating anyone, for any reason. And, Matthew 7:1 says not to judge.
It is UNACCEPTABLE to harm homosexuals because of their lifestyle, because it is unacceptable to express hatred for them.
CULTURAL, as the media endeavors to imbue us with:
It is ACCEPTABLE to be homosexually inclined. Wasn't the case 35 years ago, when AIDS hit.
It is ACCEPTABLE to engage in homosexual sex.
It is UNACCEPTABLE to hate homosexual sex. Acceptance of gays is required, including their sex. Hating it for any reason is considered homophobia.
It is UNACCEPTABLE to hate homosexuals.
It is UNACCEPTABLE to harm homosexuals, or even tell nasty jokes about them.
LEGAL, as per the U. S. Constitution:
It is ACCEPTABLE to be homosexually inclined.
It is ACCEPTABLE to engage in homosexual sex. The last of the anti-sodomy laws were legally overturned in 2003.
It is ACCEPTABLE to hate homosexual sex. Freedom of belief is constitutionally protected.
It is ACCEPTABLE to hate homosexuals because of their lifestyle. God and society might oppose this, but the U.S. government legally cannot (sadly, this law is not always followed).
It is UNACCEPTABLE to harm homosexuals, or to discriminate against them where legal rights are concerned. Your moral right to hate terminates where another person's person or rights begin.

The Bible actually says having homosexual desires is a sin, so...

Until I see chapter and verse, I'm not buying that.

John 4:20 KJV “Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.” didn’t say anything about hating anyone and plus the lord is of freewill And look like you’re taking judgement out of context, i put my note in the spoilers about judgement. Btw read Matthew 7:1-5 don’t just read one verse.
Judge with righteous judgement (kjv) Leviticus 19:15 “Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.” Proverbs 31:9 “Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.” Ezekiel 22:2 “Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.” Matthew 7:1-5 “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.” John 7:24 “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” 1 Corinthians 2:15 “But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.” 1 Corinthians 6:2-3 “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?” Phillipians 1:9 “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;”
I meant I John 4:20. As in "FIRST John"

Editado por RoachB0nd: 6/6/2019 2:10:43 AM1 John 4:20 KJV “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” This is to the saved sinners not the lost. Fake brothers in Christ like the denlinger cult hates real Christians not all of them their just deceived by their leader who doesn’t like getting exposed to the max.

And regarding Matthew 7:1-5, that's exactly the point. I'm not a good enough man to sit in judgment of others; I have enough beams in my own eyes to build a medium-sized house.
-
That’s your choice if want to judge unrighteous people and I do it when I feel like it.
-
Just remember Matthew 25:41. "Inasmuch as thou hast done it to the least of these My brothers, thou hast done it to Me." If John 3:16 is among the most comforting verses in the Bible, that one is among the most sobering.

Bump for later

It’s a case of love the person, hate the sin.
-
Aka, you can be a homosexual. You're just not allowed to live a normal life with the person you love.
-
It's a difficult conundrum, I know. That may be why so many denominations are blessing gay relationships, "marrying" gay couples, and expecting their clergy to be welcoming and affirming with practicing homosexuals: they can't figure how a loving God would want people who genuinely love one another to be apart. Truth be told, I'm on the fence on the subject; it's too complex a moral knot for me to untie. I won't completely ignore the Bible, but I won't ignore the fact that I've been at gay-friendly churches and have encountered gay people who genuinely strive to be people after God's own heart. In cases like this, the best thing to do it turn it over to the One who admonishes us not to judge, and decide that He's got this.
-
You can love someone without having sex with them and treating them like a mate.
-
This shows me that your sense of morality is probably better than that of the Bible’s.
-
It shows that I'm leaving the matter in the hands of the One whose morality is perfect.
-
Except that’s still prohibited by the Bible.
-
You've taken a side, I get that. I've opted not to.
-
That’s fine. You can have your own opinion.
