Bungie doesn’t discuss bans. Something running (note...said program doesn’t need to be actively used on d2 files, nor does it need to be a d2 specific program) on your pc or in your gameplay triggered them to review your account & they determined it ban worthy. So they’ve already made sure that a policy violation existed.

  • That don't seem fair at all, i have over 1000 hours in the game and BAM i'm banned for NO reason. :/

  • 1. It’s never for “no reason”. Again, Bungie found reason to issue the ban. 2. It is fair....as this has been the policy since day1. 3. Name any/all programs you had running on your pc within 2-3 hours of getting the ban.

  • 1. They should at least tell me why i am banned, not just "You are banned btw" 2. ^^^^ 3. Steam, Garena, Bnet, Rainmeter, League Display, Discord, and Nvidia

  • 1. No they shouldnt. If they did, it could give developers of illicit programs info on what triggers Bungie anti-cheat & they could then try to program around it. 2. Assuming that’s the only things running, it may have been the rainmeter. That appears to be a code-injector that creates overlays.

  • Can you imagine being arrested and sent to jail, asking the charge and being told we are not telling you in-case people catch on what we are investigating, that is a poor argument, rain-meter will not be the cause it dose not interfere with any third party software its a dedicated stand alone application.

And can you imagine that these bans are vastly different than a criminal case? 🤔 Plus...it doesn’t matter that it’s a stand-alone application. Bungie said said don’t run ANY programs that could be used to cheat, debug, code inject, etc

  • Money has been spent on a license to play the game to be revoked without reason provided, I don't know how you believe that is justifiable in any sense. Your argument is boiling down to that anyone who is a software or game developer and/or coder who uses software on their computer for business or hobby is inherently forbidden from playing the game just because... Nonsensical

  •
Money has been spent on a license to play the game to be revoked without reason provided, I don't know how you believe that is justifiable in any sense.
Guess you don’t think the EULA/SLA is enforceable? We all agreed that Bungie has control over who/what they ban for. Just because reason isn’t given doesn’t mean that Bungie didn’t find reason.
Your argument is boiling down to that anyone who is a software or game developer and/or coder who uses software on their computer for business or hobby is inherently forbidden from playing the game just because... Nonsensical
Absolutely not what Im saying! Those folks can/do play. However, most of them are smart enough to read/follow the policy & turn off(disable) any programs/software that game companies say not to use/run when playing their game.

  • I'm just a believer in providing proof to an accusation and innocent until proven guilty, I'm not banned and have never been from a game, but if I was to wake up one morning attempt to login and be met with a ban screen, it would be an easier pill to swallow rather than be left questioning it and feeling cheated. Chances are OP did violate the TOS & EULA which resulted in a lifetime ban.. knowingly or not, but I think as a paying customer he deserves the courtesy to be told what for, even if its a 1 word reason.

  • Sure...having a reason is definitely better than nothing. However, people would still try to argue that they shouldn’t have been banned. Plus, giving a reason may tip their hand at what the anti-cheat looks for in a running process & give cheat program developers enough info to help them code a program to circumvent detection.

  • I do get what you are saying and to keep the detailed information of the detection methods to a minimum, I'd imagine anyone using manipulation software being banned the second point of contact for them would be to the developer of the software with a strongly worded message saying your software got me banned.. it will always be a cat and mouse game and always has. an acceptable list of reasons in my opinion would be: Software Manipulation Unacceptable Behavior Abuse of online services Harassment ect... it dose not need to be a detailed account of the offence, however if someone is adamant they have not cheated using software and it turns out to be toxic behavior they since never gave a second thought it takes software cheating out the equation and them thinking its something on their computer that got them banned that everyone automatically assumes it is as soon as someone says they have been banned. People will still moan and scream about the ban, but they are doing that anyway a little context wont hurt.

  • Read the Eula. You have no rights. Playing the game is a "privilege."

  • 1. They can simply says "You have suspicious third program software running in the background" 2. If i got banned for Rainmeter i think it not justify for a ban. All and all, this probably be last time i throw money at Bungie, feel bad, was looking forward for next season.

  • Rain meter is a program that allows for custom desktop backgrounds that allows you to directly customize the background. Never heard of it til now since I use the background software from steam and have never had an issue with my version but garena which is only used for League of Legends is running? Why tho? Doesn’t that inject code for league games?

  • 1. But they dont. Never have. I dont foresee this changing anytime soon. Doing so could lead to a lot of arguing. 2. Im not saying that’s the reason, but the most likely out of the programs you listed. I can certainly understand your stance, but you have to also see it from Bungie perspective. They have to keep the game/files as safe as possible for the greater good of all players. Hence, why they have such a strict policy, even if that means flagging things that otherwise might not be.
