You’re forgetting one major point. All pve nerfs came from pvp. Except gjallarhorn (that was a community thing). I’m not making excuses for their relative behavior. However, with all the crap that’s been said to pve players from pvp players I understand why some are salty.

  • Gjallarhorn was nerfed because of PVP...!!! Did you read Bungie TWAB at that time? It because PVP players were using it ..They just shot the rocket near opponent..then the WolfPacks will kill the opponent. Thats why they nerfed the WolfPacks. Everything in Destiny get nerfed because of PVP. Look at current event...Everyone are happy with Grenade Power Fantasy...except...Gun Lover PVP players...!!!

  • I’m gonna have to call BS on that. For starters, Bungie has been tuning PvP and PvE separately for quite a while. You can’t just blame every nerf on PvP when many indeed come from PvE. Ikelos nerf: PvE Sleeper nerf: PvE Whisper nerf: PvE Super duration nerf: equally PvP and PvE Blanket shotgun changes recently: mostly PvE Name one PvE nerf that has happened in D2 solely because of PvP? Please? They tune weapon and ability damage 100% separately,

  • Wrong. The Ikelos nerf was mainly motivated by Gambit. Sleeper nerf? Same. Whisper nerf? Same Super duration nerf: Pure PvP. No one complained about Nova Warp, Blade Barrage (Shards), or the Hunter super that is next on the chopping block (because it SUCKS ) because of PvE. Those were all because of Crucible. Full Auto shotgun nerf: Gambit. All the other shotguns in the game actually got buffed. [quote]Name one PvE nerf that has happened in D2 solely because of PvP? Please?[/quote] (Cracks knuckles) Sleeper Simulant. Light Machine Guns. Crooke Fang Nova Warp Shards of Galinor (Blade Barrage) Spectral Blades (which sucks in PvE) but is still getting nerfed. Telesto. One Eyed Mask. Ammo nerfs to just about every exotic heavy weapon..... ...need I go on, or have I made my point??

  • You are acting like PvE balance changes aren’t necessary for the health of the game, and using a hybrid PvEvP mode as a scapegoat to blame PvP That’s hilarious. Bungie has stated in the past, that designing PvE activities is difficult when there are outlier weapons and abilities. Whisper, ikelos and infinite duration supers are quite obviously outliers. As a developer they get in situations where they either design activities based on the outliers, which makes everything else feel weak and obsolete (not good in a looter shooter) Or they design activities while ignoring the outliers, and then the activities feel trivial and weak, When ikelos +sleeper/whisper occupy the weapon slots of any half serious PvE players 99.99% of the time, for an entire year, It’s time for a change AT MOST a few of the changes you mentioned can be PARTIALLY blamed on the Hybrid PvEvP game mode (Gambit)

    Sleeper was nerfed because of Gambit, so that was nerfed for PvEvP EDIT - also, pretty sure the Nova Warp nerf affected it in PvE too.

  • The nerfs to Nova Warp and Shards of Galinor basically broke both of them for PVE play. The Nerf to Shards took Blade Barrage from one of the msot powerful crowd control supers in the game....and basically made it useless. You basically get no super energy back unless you dump the entire super into either a boss or a miniboss.

  • That’s fair, But now gambit is actually playable, and I’m pretty sure the reduction in aim assist has essentially no impact on sleepers PVE viability....

This is a band-aid on a cancer...that hamstrung some of the game's best weapons and abilities in PVE in the process. Which is why PVE players a pissed. They are tired of their characters and builds constantly being made weaker because of whining from the PVP side of the game. Now Bungie is to blame for forcing the two sides of the game to share the same sandbox....but PVE is always getting the shit-end of the stick when it comes to sandbox tuning.

    Its all Thunderlords/Hammerheads now from what I can tell. Not much harder to wipe a team with either of those, and they can do it more often than Sleeper ever could thanks to having shedloads of ammo. 🤷‍♂️ And yes. Hitting Calus in his gigantic head is soooooo hard now 😉

  • There’s more variety now... linear fusions are still good, MGs, snipers, scout rifles.... You can actually use a super, or invade without getting instadeleted by sleepers. Sleepers was too dominant, You could be doing boss dps with it, or clearing blockers, and without switching weapons, delete an invader, or invade yourself, It was dumb lol

  • Snipers and Linears have always been solid picks IMO. I must admit though, one thought that always perks me up is that of the time a Hunter popped into GG, and whilst he was mid-air, gun thrust triumphantly upwards towards the sky, I railed him straight through the belly with a Sleeper shot and watched his triumphant outline fade away into the ether. I promptly died because I was howling with laughter.
