If you want the weapons then I guess they are. I don't do Raids since Leviathan and I havent done IB in 3 or so seasons. Never had any problems being good at the game, or going up against 1K Voices in Gambit.
Just depends on how much you believe the "gotta have it" hype.

Right, that's what I'm saying, I don't want the raid weapons because the stuff you can easily get outside the raid is either just as good or better. I guess the point I"m trying to make is that it's odd that Destiny, an MMO, has raids that are fairly difficult (definitely more work than your average Gambit match or Strike), but don't offer top tier endgame weapons (again, excluding 1K voices). I definitely don't feel the need to do raids or IB, and I'm not saying that its necessarily a bad thing that you can get great weapons outside the raids, I'd just like more incentive to actually find a team and go raiding, or spend my day in the IB, ya know?

I like what Bungie has done with the pinnacle weapons, and the game definitely doesnt have its "Vex Mythoclast". Makes things seem more worthwhile for players like me who don't always play solo, but dont have enough friends left playing the game to enjoy Raids.
